      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [B66] Issues with new doors

Seems like the easiest thing to do is remove creeper explosions. >
  2. ingot press

Time to bring out the Back to the Future 3 train.
  3. [B66] Stone Anvils

Pick a direction and keep that way for a good while, the biomes tend to stretch a bit. On my last SSP I didn't find a tree for the first half hour of the game. Once I did though I established a nice little farm off of a plains river. Just keep looking and breaking the surface rocks. Keep an eye on the color of the local rocks for any idea of when you might be getting close. To familiarize yourself with what the target rocks look like, check them out in creative mode.
  4. feed the beast mod launcher?

Don't think advertizing is a huge problem, I found this mod when searching for a mod that provides caveins. If something that simple is bringing me here, then I imagine the other many keywords that also find this mod on google will provide advertizing as well. However, I will point out that anyone concerned that the mod isn't getting the face recognition it needs should probably do something about it; post about it on other threads, make videos, a blog detailing the progress of a group playing a LAN game, whatever.
  5. Emergencies

4 stacks of 8 plank blocks, a door and a crafting table, a small stack of sticks and stones provides further utility and you basically have a complete base in 8 slots of your inventory with food found on the way to where you're going. Lay the planks out in a 5 by 5 bunker shape without corners or top edges. It's something that can be set up in about 15 seconds and torn down in 30-40 seconds in the morning if you're unable to grab a bed during the day.
  6. Vertical Windmills

Southern Baptist, but I mainly go for the food.
  7. Sandwiches

This is under the assumption that women prefer their food in sandwich form as much as men, which I find doubtful. A generalized sandwich (and admittedly superior one) contains both carbs and protein both staples of the makeup of men. I've provided a diagram to help illustrate.
  8. More Randomization by Seed (like the meals)

The forging recipes are already technically randomized per seed as far as the initially required hits go, even if the ending is always the same. It means you can't just log onto a server or new game and instantly know how to make a bronze pickaxe.
  9. Sandwiches

I'm pretty sure the other 27% were hardcore feminists.
  10. Vertical Windmills

Green bean casserole is delicious. Renadi's argument stands.
  11. Sandwiches

It's not sexist. Studies have shown that sandwiches are at minimum 73% more appealing when made by the hands of another. Wives and girlfriends just happen to be the most common "other" nearby.
  12. Vertical Windmills

Yeah, a couple different times and places I believe. Though the hope was this would be simplistic enough to forestall the need for an entire mechanical power system. Having a whole system would require a lot more to implement (I would assume anyways), whereas this would be more that you place a block that has to be turned on, and then place the windmill on top to turn it on. Could always make levers turn it on and off, but the simpler the better if you ask me.
  13. Vertical Windmills

I agree TFC can have stuff that other mods have, I just think that most of what this mod does is that it does everything it's own way, and generally better than other mods. "We added copper and bronze!" "Oh copper and bronze, that's very nice *coughmorethantentypesofmetalandalloyscough*" I'll also agree that windmills would likely be a one trick pony, but the same article I read talking about the use of ancient vertical windmills for grinding grain also spoke of their use for moving water for irrigation. If Bioxx ever decided to revisit plant growth and irrigation, having this already in would take half of the work out of implementing something like it.
  14. Vertical Windmills

Apparently all of the geologists, biologists, and blacksmiths that actually play video games also migrated here.
  15. Vertical Windmills

The Eloraam post was a random find that popped up when I did some minecraft windmill searches in web and pictures, I couldn't find anything but that one tidbit about it to confirm what it was about much beyond the picture though. As far as the support beams, yeah, I didn't expect there would be.
  16. Gems + XP = Idea!

I get the feeling that if magic starts getting introduced, bioxx will follow the same path he has this whole time, he will implement sub system after sub system until it builds into a combined system of awesome. Piece by piece, he'll make it work. Consider making charcoal, that's something he's still fleshing out after all this time, even though it's technically been implemented for quite a few builds now, just now it's outright awesome by comparison.
  17. Gems + XP = Idea!

Could always just replace "gems" with "mineral" Use of raw ore or filed metal/alloy shavings would add a very real cost to some magic. Imagine if a spell/enchantment/whatever required shavings of several important alloys on top of whatever other requirements? This would also be useful in that explosives could be a partially non-magical branch of alchemy. A "file" tool would be useful for making powders from a variety of minerals for combining.
  18. Things you think should be added to agriculture.

Goes to look for info about baking for points to discuss on TFC forums, ends up watching the pony version of fresh prince of belair somehow instead.
  19. Cows, Pigs and Chickens nearly immortal

Apply a stone hammer liberally to a cow's head, pretty sure you'll still make progress.
  20. Vertical Windmills

I'm of the belief that wool should only be used if weaving is introduced. Otherwise it's a giant ball of fluff just stretched between the rods and probably wouldn't catch the wind very well. At least not well enough to turn stone on stone potentially.
  21. Things you think should be added to agriculture.

With a well diversified farm, you have no real need for meat, it's just a nice luxury. That's what I've found anyways.
  22. Vertical Windmills

The truth is, I personally believe it should be possible to make without the use of metal tools, but I also believe support beams should be possible to make without metal tools. The reason I added the need for metal was that so you couldn't get it so easily. With this, it'd mean you'd need a minimum of a tier 0 saw and chisel to get a full quern/windmill combo going, so even a basic farmer in the game would have to do a bit of non-farming work or have help from other specialists. So you'll either need a community or diversification, seems to fit with the rest of the mod.
  23. Gems + XP = Idea!

I've won minecraft several times. You know you've won when you can fly, shoot a laser that eats a mountain, convert said mountain into a stack of solar panels that powers your vis production to superchant your flying gear. There's a nuclear explosion and a herd of wolves in there somewhere as well.I can understand the desire to have something to strive for late game, but let's also face the fact that many mods have already done this with magic and magic items, and for all intent and purpose this mod is still in infancy. Even if it does already make most mods look like they were put together by an eight year old. Having magic be a facet without being the end game and letting some other aspect of the mod be the thing to strive for will make this mod stand out more than just another apocalypse spell. Not to say the magic should be limited to just dried herbs and basic alchemy, just that I don't believe it should be as all powerful as I think some people are aiming for.
  24. Loose Rock Placement

I think the sand near large water bodies make sense being the color of the local rock, but actual deserts or deposits of sand inland should be a standard silica sand like you said. Honestly, the sand matching the rock, especially around waterways, really ties the environment together and makes it look less patchwork. Throwing in gravel that matches stone type as well and that could be sifted for stone of the rock indicated would probably be tedious to implement but would also change one of the last real vanilla spawning blocks in game to bring it in line with the rest of the mod.
  25. Quern (bug)

    does 66 break 64 worlds?
