      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Kriging a Geostatistics tool

Hmmm .. I want to keep nitpicking, but it is so off topic All I will say: Is complete mental stability truly desirable ? Obviously, we need to be reasonably steady, but true stability would bring us a concerning step closer to the wavy horizon between "human" and "biological machine". Personally, I don't see why people want to be perfect, it is our flaws which give us our humanity.
  2. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

I actually don't know what "on topic" is for this thread *goes back and reads* Yeah, this picks up on a fundmental flaw in MC as a whole. You are never going to be able to scale these things properly. Here's a tip if you want to try: Stop thinking in terms of size. The MC world is really scaled in terms of time and not size. You can't accurately scale trees and charcoal production because IRL it doesn't take 30 seconds to cut down a mighty sequoia tree with a knapped stone axe. The size of the tree is irrelevant. It is the investment of time that is the key here
  3. Kriging a Geostatistics tool

The concept of "Sanity" as it is generally understood doesn't really hold up to any scrutiny. Fundamentally, "Sanity" is a matter of perspective as it describes "abnormality" which is relative to your social concept of "normal". Even though this is easily realised, people are inherently subjective so we will always view others in comparison to our personal frame of reference.
  4. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

Haha It's not what I think obviously, but it is how I view you. To be fair, your gender is of little consequence so I won't even guess :L Gz on the 600
  5. Kriging a Geostatistics tool

Really ? Mine is already there enjoying a Pina Colada in a light shower while I drool over my keyboard and occasionally tap things then post it on this forum. So not much has changed.
  6. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

Bullshit. Srg Noodles is a genderless forum member like most other people here apart from me and Infinus who have both been seen in photographs Edit: Also, I've never seen why it's important, other than to alleviate most peoples miserable convictions that women have no interest in anything that men do have an interest in
  7. It does, to a level. Realism in mining is a very unachievable goal for TFC to be honest. If they went for it (and did it in a period appropriate fashion) it would take a very very long time to mine (and you still wouldn't get explosives ) Basically, realistic mining in TFC is a bit of a pipe dream :L
  8. This is tactical melee combat ! Age of Chivalry

Actually, it is (if you like) the game of the mod. The dev team decided to make it into a full game Hmmm, not quite, but you get the idea I am going to make a post on organic weapons programming. Go take a look when I finish it
  9. That is based on the assumption that exploding green beasties will continue to roam the land once Bioxx is "finished" (although development of mods like this never end ) To be honest, I don't think we'll be seeing much of explosives at all in TFC 1.0.0 (either directed in guns or for mining)
  10. I understand. Well, the reason for the delay was to allow the un-whitelisted period to pass with as little disruption to players as possible, but if everyone is happy then we can move earlier
  11. Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around, hectic weekend The map reset will be on Monday 17th (or around that time, depends on what is happening with the mod) ECC: Flying is enabled for OP's ?
  12. You couldn't have known this, but Bioxx said some time ago that there was to be no guns at all, even if they are period appropriate.
  13. Guys, I am going to wait to update to b49 as there is another big update coming soon I suspect
  14. Kingdoms Brainstorming

Cevkiv, on mobile so no quotes for now, but there are not enough like buttons for your post. As the owner of (the only ?) Faction based war server, I feel this would be just right Serious, serious +1
  15. Trophy Items

Stop. Stop it. This thread still has plenty of life in it before it careens off the rails into irrelevance I like the idea, I feel like we aren't being rewarded for actively hunting mobs right now :/
  16. The annoyance of game categories...

I see Man, I feel like my uni must be easy because I had like 1/3 attendance last year and I got 62%
  17. Stupid Ideas

It's because we've been around long enough to catch the funny comments It's like a badge of honour, and one I am proud to wear
  18. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

Weeeelllllll .. That depends on the average you are taking and how many significant figures you are using (but certainly the average is approaching 0) I totally agree we won't get to them soon though. You also have an above average number of legs Unless you don't, in which case I am sorry
  19. The annoyance of game categories...

I have no idea how uni works in the us O.O I am taking 120 credits, but I suspect that is very different (either that or all Scottish students have super powers ! ) I do 6 classes (sometimes more if they are small) a year for 5 years (just going into my 3rd year btw) and that will net me one of the best degrees there is. (MEng, so it's only one "level" below a PHD)
  20. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

Hmmm, not quite. We are almost 100% positive it is a statistical certainty that other life bearing planets like earth exist. The universe is so vast that it is impossible to be otherwise. Also, as the universe is expanding and planets are changing constantly, this is even more true. What I think you meant is that it is the only planet which harbours life in the immediately observable portion of the universe :L :L /pedanticrant
  21. Animals 'r Cool

I never really got hating on brony's any more than I got hating on Nickelback fans. People will do what they want, why should I stop them or mock them for it ? Ps. This is my way of telling you all I am a nickelback fan and I feel it is very hypocritical to mock people for it yet expect leniency with your own media preferences I really don't understand why everyone hates them so much ? I appreciate they are skillfully devoid, but that doesn't affect my enjoyment of the music. I like barbecues, just because they aren't fine works of nouveau cuisine doesn't mean they don't taste good
  22. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

Haha That is true, but as devils advocate here: Why protect the earth (presuming we developed the technology to move on) ? What do we really owe the planet or any of it's species ? I'm not suggesting we are superior, or that we deserve to live more than any other animal, but I would say that human interest #1 is looking after ourselves. If we could benefit from moving to another planet and strip mining/depleting earth into oblivion, why not ? You have a conscience, that is why. I really hope nobody actually thinks as above :S I am hardly a veggie or even an animals rights activist, but I love our planet and I think it is beautiful and precious, even if it is less unique than we foolishly believe.
  23. Stupid Ideas

Hi, I'm Jed. Nice to meet you It seems like too much work to upkeep for me though :S .. I am a lazy dick
  24. Mineshaft lifts...

Oh please ! My ideas are no better than anyone elses I actually think you caught something I totally missed in mentioning the use of the hauling medium as a lift Continue to post your ideas, research them some more and you will be solid
  25. The Craft.

I disagree man I know hundreds of people will have said the same thing (and it depends on your definition of childhood too) but I think the years I just went through will probably be some of the best of my life. Case and point: I spent most of my first year of uni really really ermmm .. sober ¬.¬ I spent most of my second year of uni in bed I still managed an average 62% mark despite my poor attendance (I will be in a lot more this year, I swear ! ) Fifth year of school (school at age 16) was annoying, but only because I was getting detentions and punishment exercises just for growing a beard and having long hair. The other parts were awesome Honestly, I'd say the years between 16 - 25 and 12 - 14 are the best days in life 12 - 14 because you don't suffer from the supreme melodrama of teenage life and can enjoy simplicity and 16 - 25 because you can get laid and not worry about your parents (at least over here anyway) drink (again, in the UK) and generally party it up with your gratuitous free time. By the time you hit 25+ you're usually in a real job, working sometimes as much as 8 - 6 regularly, your body slowly begins to deteriorate and you begin to accrue serious responsibility. Your parents get old and you start to worry about them and if you think you are powerless as a kid and that adulthood will liberate you, rest assured that the majority of adults are even less free and even more powerless, stuck in jobs they hate with wives/husbands who don't look after themselves anymore. Not all that great afterall
