      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [SOLVED] Grass not showing on clay w/ Optifine.

Which version of Optifine are you using? Are you using 78.17? Is that the only patch of clay that's like that or is every patch like that?
  2. How do i gather drinking water?

Once you do find a fresh water source, you can also make a barrel and fill the barrel up with the fresh water then break it and transport it to your home. Once it's down at your house you can set it to Out and refill your jug without having to travel to the fresh water for a while.
  3. [Solved]No scribing table?

It's been removed. Refer to the Anvil wiki page, you'll see that there's a plan selector now, so the scribing table isn't necessary anymore.
  4. Source:http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/5784-better-fire-model-and-slight-fire-tweaks/?p=80948 Sadly it seems like the devs don't want to do anything with fire pits and 3d models, so I'm not sure if this will ever see the light of day. I'm not sure about the latter part of your post, though. I wouldn't mind being able to do that too.
  5. Agriculture and Skills

Yeah, but then you could just easily get to 50, get all the seeds you will ever need, and it wouldn't even matter if you leveled the perk ever again.
  6. The thing with that is you have to consider how many types of gems there are: 13. Say that we don't worry about quality of that gem type, so regardless of it being chipped, perfect, or whatever the type is the type and the size of it won't affect the model. Now, that's still 13 more weapons/tools added per weapon/tool that'd have this feature. Yeah, that's a ton of work and clutter for something that wouldn't have much use. Yes, they could just make 2-3 gems have this feature, but really, that's still too many extra items IMO. If they could add an effect to a weapon or tool (similar to the enchantment effect) that was just based upon the color of the gem in it (so ruby would be red, etc), that could save from a lot of clutter, but yeah.
  7. Better Fire model and slight fire tweaks

I really like the idea of a fireplace like that. I hope to see something similar in the future. I know dunk has been working on some models (like reworking bears, fishes, etc) so perhaps he'll eventually redo this one.
  8. Bibliocraft Addon

Alice was trying to help with the wiki but some things she did without asking (or not to the given specifications, either or) and Kitty began to tell her what she did wrong or not to do certain things, etc. After a while Alice got frustrated and ended up snapping at Kitty. I honestly hope it's not a permanent ban. I'd rather have seen a removal of wiki privileges (as apparently she wasn't editing the wiki appropriately, if I recall correctly she was trying to remove something user-related) and a temp ban to give her time to cool off. I don't know what might have happened in the past with Alice though, so that's just from having been on IRC at the time; a permanent ban could have been warranted (if it is in fact a permanent ban). Either way, I'd like to see bibliocraft in TFC someday.
  9. What I'd like to see most is the ability to select an alloy that you would like to create and then seeing something along the lines of this : Copper: 50-70% [% of copper you have currently] Zinc: 20-30% [% of zinc you have in the vessel currently] Bismuth: 10-20% [% of bismuth you have in the vessel currently] So say that you have 5 copper ores worth 15 units each, 7 zinc worth 10 units each, and 3 bismuth worth 25 units each, it would say something like this: Copper: 50-70% [You're at 34.09%] Zinc: 20-30% [You're at 31.81%] Bismuth: 10-20% [You're at 34.09%] That way people would know what amount they're at as well as what amounts they need for the alloys. They could then remove and add ores to hit the appropriate percentages.
  10. Agriculture and Skills

I have yet to make a farm in my world and my agriculture is at 171. If it were the way you suggested that would be insane. I'd have so many seeds that I'd just throw them anyway. @.@
  11. Why Can't I Make Bismuth Bronze?

I think this goes without saying but the percentage is based on the amount of units you put into the vessel as well. So if you're putting 160 units in, you'll have to base your math upon 160 units and trying to get that to be 20-30% zinc, 50-70% copper, 10-20% bismuth. Of course if you're at a number such as 160 you would have to store the remainder 60 units in an unshaped mold until you can get the remainder 40 units into the mold to create an ingot. In other words, divide the amount of units for a specific ore by the total amount of units inside of the vessel to get the percentage, and then adjust. For example, say you have 60 units of copper in that 160 units, it'd be 60/160 = 0.375 (37.5%). That would mean you would have to remove some units of another type of ore until copper's within that 50-70%, and keep adjusting until all 3 ore types are at their respective percentages. You can do any amount of units you'd like as long as the percentages are correct and it's all able to fit inside of that single vessel. Also, if you go over the percentage (say 70.5% for copper) I don't think it'll melt, so you want it below the maximum percentage or equal to it. I think there is some leeway but I haven't tested it (if there is, it's probably around or below .1% of the maximum percentage). Good luck.
  12. A safer method is to convert each block into a detail block via the chisel. The only thing is you can't place blocks (tool racks, etc) on them, so it's mostly used for walls. You can also use planks to support floors -- you will still lose a block layer due to it, but it'd give the appearance of it being a single layer that's being held up by beams (instead of using huge support beams): http://i.imgur.com/PDk4oZs.png. That was just a quick throw-together so I know it looks meh, but I'm sure it could be made to look better. It can also be used to support walls. I know the point of this thread is to suggest a specific block with this purpose but I figured I'd throw in another couple workarounds for now.
  13. I need help

Here's a few things you should read over, please make sure to read the pages fully to get the best understanding of what I have linked. There's a page on the wiki called Metals which will teach you many things about the different types of metal, namely what each metal can and cannot be crafted into. Refer to box one on this page in order to determine what each metal can make. It also goes over which temperature each metal needs to be at in order to be worked or welded, among other things. The first thing you should make is a Forge as you'll need to constantly reheat the metals, in order to weld or work them. You should also consider making a Bellows as it'll help quicken the process. The next thing you'll need is an Anvil; this page tells you how to make anvils (whether it be stone or metal) and an in-depth tutorial on how to use them. Make sure to read this page fully and carefully. Also, make sure to grab any Flux Stones that you find, you will need them for your anvil, the first box on this page tells you which stones are considered Flux. From there, if you want to make a metal anvil, you'll have to craft Double Ingots. You will have to heat up two ingots at your Forge, as well have a nearby Igneous Stone-anvil, that has a hammer in slot 4 and flux in slot 5. Put both of the heated ingots in the upper most left box and press weld, as displayed on the Double Ingots page. Remember, the Metal will begin to cool once you take it out of the Forge, so you only have a limited amount of time to weld it before you'll have to reheat it -- that means, you should let it heat up to a further degree than just the first level of being able to be welded. This applies to being worked, as well.If you're unsure on how to get Igneous Stone to use as an anvil, all you have to do is find an Igneous Stone block and dig away any blocks that are connected to it's sides -- it will then fall to the ground and you can relocate it to near your Forge. The Anvil page tells you which stone is considered Igneous. Here's another link that will help you when you would like to craft some Armor(by now, if you've read all the pages I've linked, you'll be able to understand the Armor page). As suggested, you should probably work on Copper or Bronze tools before worrying about an anvil though, but I hope this helped either way. Make sure to refer to the wiki as much as possible, if you don't, you will have trouble with this mod.
