      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Rework Mushroom Biomes

6 posts in this topic

Right now, Mushroom Biomes are included in TFCraft, but aside from a lack of Mycelium except on the banks of surface pools, they haven't changed from vanilla. There are still Mooshrooms everywhere and they breed like in vanilla, and no hostile mobs spawn. Because of this, survival in them is too easy. I know that the devs will probably get to them eventually, but I just want to talk about how they could be improved.

Here are some of my ideas:

1. Mooshrooms would all attack you when you attack one, like Wolves, as well as when you approach one holding Shears. This would make them a bit harder to farm than normal Cows.

2. Instead of no monsters spawning, there would be mushroom versions of the monsters.

3. Mycelium would convert Grass.

4. Mushroom Biomes would be more common because they would not be as OP.

5. They would be more reminiscent of the Corruption from Terraria. They would be harder than the regular biomes as opposed to being easier.

Are you guys really sure you don't want to do something interesting with them?

It just seems like a nice place to get creative.

. Keeping the mushroom biome also allows you to think-up resources that suit the needs of the mod but don't work with the time frame of the mod. Extra bioluminecent fantasy mushrooms could be crafted into lamp-like planter blocks to replace glowstone. You could add mushrooms to use as medicines or toxins, or whatever.

If it's got to go though, it's got to go. :U

Unfortunately, yeah, we're not working with it. (But whether or not we take it out any time soon is another question lol, not really that important)
