      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Like some other things in this mod, this still needs tweaks. To call it useless is shortsighted.

Sorry if you misunderstood me.

The idea is good.

The current implementation is useless (doesn't bring any use).

Also does each person affect the protection? Because it will be better that 10 people generate more and faster protection then just 1.

The spawn protection works perfectly as intended as the below picture confirms. I spent 2 in game days in the middle square and all 9 chunks are reading the same amount of protection. I also saved, exited and re-entered the world to make sure that everything was saving properly. It is.

The fact that mobs are wandering up to your house and attacking you is your own fault for not building a wall. The purpose of spawn protection is to prevent mobs from spawning inside or on top of your house/base. Having your mommy check under the bed for monsters and her not finding any might mean that there are no monsters under your bed, but it doesn't mean they won't come try to find you once she leaves.

There is a very common misconception that I've addressed in IRC back when this was first implemented and apparently it never made its way to the forums. The spawn protection affects a 3x3 area. This means the corner chunks ARE affected!

To answer the question about multiple players. This WILL build protection much faster. An encampment with 10 people in the wilderness is far more likely to keep wild animals at bay than a lone camper on his own would.

A good explanation indeed.

In multiplayer with many players, where there is always at least one player that stays in the base, this idea can work really well. But in sigleplayer, where the player needs to leave it's house for a day or two, will come back into a house without protection. (at least that is how it worked for me)

So maybe it will be better that the recharge speed depends on the amount of max players in the game/server as well?

As I gather... Lexx runs a server in which his protection meter is acting quirky.

Earlier, it used to work like it says on the wiki... but now, if he leaves the chunk and goes too far, he comes hack to an empty protection meter...

I think. My English is a bit rusty. Lol. ;p
