      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Suggestion: barrels!

43 posts in this topic

Hello all! I'm newbie in your forums, so I don't know, was this idea or not.

Ok. We all know, how long ingot is cooling, o I suggest barrels.

I think, it'll be like cauldron in vanilla Minecraft. But barrel need 3 water buckets to be full.

It'll be cool ingot/form for * every 5 seconds. For * it'll need 0.1 bucket.

Here is gui and screens: (sorry for Mad skillz)

I suggest using plank texture for the barrel and use planks instead of wood.

Unfortunately, this suggestion of yours has already been discussed. Also, Mr. Bioxx desires a different kind of cooling mechanic for quenching ingots other than barrels full of water. Impressive Game User Interface and recipe, by the way. One more thing... WHAT THE BLOODY BULLETS IS THAT ABOMINATION ON YOUR PROFILE IMAGE (by abomination, I mean that creepy-smiling canine)?!?!

-Sda209

P.S. - It is best if you search around the suggestions forum by using the search bar in the top right corner. Other than that...

Welcome to the Terra Firma Craft Forums, Mr. Mexahoid!

How do I implement spoilers into my posts? Never mind, I think I figured it out.

Nice art, but I also think it should be made with planks.

... who is this?... i like him (or her...) :3

Though, one litle thing: Dunk said we will in fact use barrels for quenching (even though it won't have water inside, as that's stupid; instead, it will need some oil.)

Apparently there will exist oil in our TFC.

Barrels have been suggested many times, As well as Suggested by Me. I like your Revision of it better though.

That's cool, but what do you mean oil instead of water for ingots quenching?

I have read somewhere that oil is much better for quenching than water is... That's why i said it.

Wiki: "Water is one of the most efficient quenching media where maximum hardness is acquired, but there is a small chance that it may cause distortion and tiny cracking. When hardness can be sacrificed, whale, cottonseed and mineral oils are used. These often tend to oxidize and form a sludge, which consequently lowers the efficiency. The quenching velocity (cooling rate) of oil is much less than water. Intermediate rates between water and oil can be obtained with water containing 10-30% UCON from DOW, a substance with an inverse solubility which therefore deposits on the object to slow the rate of cooling."

Now that sounds just plain creepy, to be honest with you, Mr. Just_Another_Guy_:)

Deep fried ingot. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

I imagine that consuming one would be lacking in nutrition. Also, they're indigestible, and might kill you. As you speak of it, just saying...

Oh I never said anything about nourishing. You'd probably die from poisoning from heavy metals and whatnot, but the point stands, that gun (placed in my stomach long enough without my dying for long enough) will eventually dissolve.

Still illogical to me, but I'll respect your answer. The point about nourishment from metals is that you shouldn't really eat them because of their lack of nutritional value, yet they high amounts of iron and zinc.
