      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] 79.6 Knife Vanishing Shift-Clicking Processing Grains

10 posts in this topic

Version #: 79.6.245

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSPSuggested Name: Knife Vanishing Shift-Clicking when Processing GrainsSuggested Category: SevereDescription: When processing harvested Harvested Grains into Grains with a Knife, if you shift-click to remove product the knife vanishes. Yes I know shift-clicking and TFC don't get along well. This was tested with all knives and grains. Knife works as expected (knife remains in crafting window) when manually removing decay or processing sheepskin and shift-clicking to remove product.Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes*If you answered no to the above question, delete your config files and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question.Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: YesIf yes, which mods?

Fastcraft 1.9

MapWriter 1.7.10-2.1.1

NEI 1.7.10-1.0.2.15 with dependencies

Forge 10.13.1.2012If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them?*Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed.Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report:

The same has happened to me with no mods installed.

I'd like to report that I also have gotten stacked knives, possibly related to this.

I think I got that too once - there's many weird things going on with the food stuff ...

I'd also like to mention, that the shortcuts S and D for stacking and decay cuts work quite messy too, with jumping random foods from the inventory into the crafting grid and the like.

Another thing I noticed is a ghost bowl appearing in the cooking GUI every time after using the last one for a meal. It is invisible, but I saw it blinking after clicking, so I know what it was. I can take it into the inventory, but has no function. I normally just throw them away, but it's annoying ...

This bug report is for a very specific and reproducible issue. If you have other issues then please properly document them in their own topic. Otherwise this topic gets messy and the issues you discovered won't be noticed to be fixed.

Note: Due to the way that vanilla Minecraft handles shift clicking, as well as pressing hotbar numbers, any bugs resulting from using these methods will simply be "fixed" by disabling the use of the method.

Rule #1 in TFC: Don't shift click items around in inventories.

This is in the official support thread. Shift click is buggy, and the developers are probably not going to go tooth and nail to save you a few clicks of a mouse as far as shift-clicking is concerned. If there's a problem that doesn't involve that specific button combination. You're in the green.

I mentioned in my report that I'm aware of that, but the reality is that shift-clicking is ingrained in many of us and this is a pretty severe issue if you have a high tier knife. As is was a very specific circumstance in which it occurred and it was completely reproducible I felt it was worth reporting. As it does not occur for any other function analogues to this with the knife I thought it may be an issue that is able to be narrowed down and solved. Hell I watched Dunk in Terrafirmacrack shift-clicking.

That's a fair point, let the developers decide then.

I would love to see that shift-clicking being fixed too, it's just too much of a habit to give it up.
