Where have all the berries gone?

Have spawn requirements for berry bushes changed for 0.79?

 

I tried flying around in creative mode at various latitudes and in the time it took me to spot a dozen or so fruit trees, I could not find a single berry bush. In build 78, it was not uncommon to be able to see several clusters of bushes in any valid climate if I was high enough.

Probably just bad luck, first server I joined on 79, I found cranberries within a few minutes. CRANBERRIES I TELL YOUZ! Which as it turns out is already really rare because of the peat requirements .

Well I finally found some after downloading the latest version and flying around a bit, but they are still seem very rare compared to other foods.

I've not seen any berry bushes too and i covered a large area already...

I have just created a new world and could find some berry bushes (Winergreen and Elderberry).

There are some climate conditions for them to spawn: Bio temperature, rain fall, EVT, ...

I don't think the conditions were changed in 79, but somehow I've the impression that it is harder to find them... probably just out of luck.

I've had no issues. I have Bunchberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Gooseberry, Elderberry, Snowberry, Strawberry, and Cranberry. I spawned around 11500 and have explored East and West at that lattitude. Sure wish I realized Cranberries were on peat. I have found 9 so far in a few different spots and didn't know about the Peat...something I have never found...ugh

 Fruit trees have been hard to come by that far north, only found 1 peach and 1 cherry so far in ALOT of exploring. I have made my year twice as long as the default and am just in my 1st Autumn, so I haven't been in this world that long.
