      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved][79.4] Nutrition/MaxHP only going down despite balanced meals?

The build does lack a bit of testing that's for sure, but then it is marked beta, so that can be expected.Have you considered doing more frequent updates with less changes each? That way you could implement feature by feature, get feedback and bug reports for each, and people wouldn't be overwhelmed by a sudden change of everything.

The main reason that doesn't happen is because it is an extremely rare case for the majority of the features currently being worked on to be in a stable state. The devs like to work on a lot of different random features all at the same time, so that when they get bored or sick of one thing, they can always go work on something else.

I will say it's always interesting when after 6 months of people complaining that TFC 79 is taking too long to release and we should hurry up and just get it out, there is a post like this.

True ... I remember this discussion clearly. I apologize if I came a little harsh before; I very much support this method of releasing unfinished features, because most of these reported bugs are probably impossible to test or even discover by the Devs alone, let alone in such a short time!So we, the players, are the testers and as such an essential part of the whole developement process :)In my above post I only stated, that this particular problem is akin to a gamebraking feature and should therefore be of very high priority in comparison to minor bugs. I did not mean any offense :)

The devs like to work on a lot of different random features all at the same time, so that when they get bored or sick of one thing, they can always go work on something else.

This is very easy to do with Git: got a new idea? Create a branch for that idea, code and commit as you like. If at any time you like to work on something else, just switch the branch. This way you can have several half-ready ideas floating around while you still have a stable master. And if something is ready to be released, then just merge that branch into the master and release it.

Not all features can be tested properly by the coders, so it's extremely difficult to make a 'stable' release without involving a large tester base. For example there was a bug that if you broke a soaked hide on a log it would drop the wrong item, that was a bug for a long time before anyone noticed, as the way to reproduce was to use the feature in the wrong way (devs and most testers don't always test features in the wrong way).

I personally like that they are releasing how they are, it gives us the community the ability to help make the game more stable for everyone. These are all 'beta' releases, and it is sad that a lot of gamers out there have no idea that means it may not be stable, and its meant for testing. I personally know that some things are more buggy than others, and could have been noticed and fixed before added into the main branch... but this is a free mod/game and I am grateful that they are working so hard on it and trying to give us a great gaming experience.

So to Bioxx, Dunk, and Kitty (and everyone else involved behind the scenes), keep up the great work!

With current access to only vegetables and grains .. I've managed to stabalize my health at around 195 by cooking what I have..still can't get more than 50% on either vegetable or grain though

Not sure what relevance at all that will have to any fruit as 90% of fruit is more nutritious if you don't cook it.

Alright guys, after extensive testing of the sandwiches I can say with extreme certainty:

DO NOT EAT SANDWICHES IN 79.6, IT IS NOT THAT THEY GIVE 0 NUTRITION, THEY ACTUALLY HAVE NEGATIVE NUTRITION AND EATING THEM WILL ONLY DRAIN YOUR HEALTH.

Please stick to salads and raw ingredients until we fix this.

Sandwiches drain your health.

Sandwiches kill you.

I mean, I've always criticized Americans and their weird savory sandwiches (I'm Dutch, we put chocolate on our bread), but I never thought they'd be deadly :D

To my experience sandwiches are one of the healthiest foods you can eat in USA. But that's not because they are especially healthy. ;)

Please stick to salads and raw ingredients until we fix this.

I think it is the nutrition value of the dishes we constantly swallow whole together with the salad... While you are at it, could you fix that too please?
