      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. No, have a bit of mods full of magic, i dislike the way of TFC going to Magics and fantastic, aproach.

    I know, zombies and skelletons, not much believable, but any game need a bit of "suspension of disbelief", nothing is true realistc in fact means.

  2. dont kill, all animals around, make a saw to store your itens and go far searching a exposed copper vein, break this with a knife (is very slow). (RIP)

    Take all stick you can, make ladders to digg verticaly around ore nuggets.

    Use a knife to gather seaweed, is a easy food source.

    rennet, is maked from stomach of cowns, maybe you use the leather water sac, blade from sheeps.

    IDK how to make the script to change barrel/largevessel process, to replace the vinegar for the rennet.

  4. Remember the point about makinig cheese is very easy, if you have 9 familiarized female cowns, you have a way to make 1 cheese a day, and milk in barrels, dont decay, this way and hard preserving ways make you never be lacking in cheese.

     

    In RL, the not industrialized food, rotten in the market, bread, fruits,, vegetables and grains while the time pass.

  5. stone tools is so good, many people use only stone hoe, shovel, axe, knife. The exception is if he need to work specific way, if he need  a lot of wood, straw, farmland, terraforming, charcoaling (all more intensive jobs)
    same way a copper saw, is good por general purposes but if you go to build a large area with planks and lumber, maybe you see the need to better metal saw for more durability.

     

    One stone axe make around 40~50 logs, not is a crap tool.
    Stone knife is used far the end-game, beacuse your very cheap and usefullness

  6. Tony, the wild crops dont is the problem, farming produce much more food than the wild huge spawning, 1 chunk of farm is better than any wild chunk, because the wild chunk need many years spawnning to produce the same amount but the farmland is near the player.

    The problem with "wild crop spawning" is solved to 0.25, think dont have more spare crops "in to the wild" (i like this film,  o_O)

    scarcity is the "need" for a coop play in TFC, if anyone have all the things he need, he dont need anyone, he is free and independence.

     

    TFC needs to play:

    Food - life maintenance
    armor/weapons - defense from hostiles

    tools - for production  of food/weapons

     

    if you have all this easy and all the time you dont need nothing more.

     

    Food, decay with time, and this make a ciclic need to produce food (but is easy to make food in regular way)

     

    weapons is only consumed if you have a constant hostile ambience, if you find a easy peaceful way , this is broken because you dont consume your defensives.

     

    tools the issue on this is many times you consume tools to produce more tools resourses, one picaxe fullyconsumed dont gather resources for 2 or 3 new picaxes, but for more 30~40.
    Consuming one picaxe to produce 10 news, make any world replenished of picaxes very easy.

     

    Same real world, the "need" to keep TFC playing is increasing the consume of stuffs and/or lowering the gather ways.

    All is my vision/opinion.

    @Tony, i dont remember if the DarkAge have the towny despawn mobs, this (IMO) break the small needs to buila a  secure house, normaly if any server have this im live in a camp (openfloor)

    If wild crops dont drop food, at the start server many people go to starvation, all have butcher skill low, any animals killed drop low meat, and need to preserve for ranching.
    Fishing need string or wool, fruits need a time to produce and one tree dont make expressive amounts.

     

    How to obatin starting foods?

    I agree with the crops old die, is a bit tragic, but challenge any farmer to learn and know, maybe create the need to input knowledge ingame, making info signs or books, sound interesting, but have the chance to cause a misfortune, and the fall of yours survivor,

     

    In my mind, in survival way food is a very precious resource, this have first priority.

    Another way is to you block the farmland placement of seeds (Blocking the farm/fruits) basic food is gathered only in wild, (meat and cheese remaining)

    This way force the preservation of the spare food gathered around the exploration.

  8. The config to kill old crops, make the game hard, any fail in farm lost your seeds.

    Longer years make the farming more slow, i think

    For hard play, i sugest you make all the veins small, have a huge amount of ore in one vein to sustain all the server. :)

  9. You can actually configure it in a way that you don't even need the piston for generating rhyolite.

    You mean, with the auto-breaking block or manual break?For manual breaking dont need the piston, but for auto-breaking need because the fall of cobblestone break the hopper, and if you put the hopper bellow the rhyolite generated its break the lava and not produce rhyolite.

  10. Happy Diggers is a MP server and have a long term running same map, (look at the number of towns created) (maybe insaneJ, say how many people played in curernt map)

    Multiplayer is 2 players? 5/10/50/100 players?

  11. IMO the leather processing is very believable and break the individual mass production of an item in the artesanal way, is hard and need "work" to produce and for my style is very balanced than old method.

    Log planks and lumber is easy, making tfc fell "criative hardmode", none run outo of lumber, one bronze axe chop a small forest relatively easy.

     

    For multiplayerserver, work to produce any goods, make the MP, more coop, and add value to the item, and this valuable have a potenciality to make trades, and trade make players interactions.

     

    Another point is the durability for its tools, if you make a bronze saw, in normal way you reach iron/steel era and you first saw have a bit of durability.

  12. This effect occurs in warm areas of wild crops spawn, every year event spawn more and more crops, in cold areas wild crops die from eviromental damage, warm area not have this event like as EL ninõ/La ninã to clear the chunk area from this excessive amount of crops.
