      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Screwed-up educational system? or maybe it got something right, and realized that it's going to be a really long time before US switches to metric, so might as well let you use what you're going to use in the real world? That said, anyone have a good system for comparing Celsius to Farenheit? Specifically, these temperatures: 60F, 70F, 80F, 90F.
  2. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

No, just usually when I say I'm one people automatically assume I'm a drug user or a drunk... Being in favor of other people's right to damage their own bodies for pleasure doesn't mean I want to damage my own... genetics has done enough of that to me.
  3. useless bone meal

You know, as much as I like BTW's implementation of certain features, I do like a number of them (Milling wheat, etc.)
  4. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Oh those are easy. They're the people who were failed by the educational system (As in, the educational system failed to educate them, not they were such crappy students they failed out.), or they spend too much time listening to the old people, or they're just traditionalists, and you know what? I can respect that. Also, I cannot get comfortable with Celsius temperatures for the life of me.
  5. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

Not all libertarians are stoners, you know. Also, I saw it in the low-res thread browser thingymabober picture first, so the cat face isnt' really visible.
  6. Honestly? A Minecraft-style game that takes Steve all the way along the path of technological development, from Stone Age to the modern age. Obviously multiplayer-centered, but playable alone, for those people who don't like multiplayer/don't have good enough Internet connections. Realistic geography, weaponry, and technological development paths.
  7. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Wasn't correcting you, just adding for the others who may not know. Probably shouldn't have added @JAG, sorry. Meant it as an addenum.
  8. Woodcutting, and charcoal.

Okay, when I first looked at your new profile pic, I thought it was a donkey with half it's skull exposed, and I was like "what the F*** is up with your face? (Off-off-topic-topic: Guy from Scotland, do you speak Gaelic?)
  9. Ships!!

Besides which, I understand we aren't going to be getting gunpowder weapons from a couple other threads. Feel free to correct me if I misread, dunk/bioxx. That said, massive cargo ships would be AWESOME. The English battleships were of a similar size to cargo vessels of the time, and had three masts, if I recall correctly. And of course, any ships in this mod (Blue-water vessels) should be of the Atlantic design.
  10. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Dude. The Democrats have their share of old idiots too. Otherwise, if the Republicans were the only problem in switching to Metric, President Obama and his rubber-stamp Congress would have switched us over back in '08. Apologies for the double post. P.S. @JAG : mil is a latin prefix meaning 1000. milli is a latin prefix meaning .001, cent is 100, centi is .01, and then the latin prefixes go crazy. (giga and nano, Tera and femto, etc.)
  11. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

When I first started driving, I hated roundabouts. Now, I hate idiots who don't understand right-of-way on roundabouts.(Example, an idiot in a blue Ford who stopped in the middle of a roundabout, to let the driver on his RIGHT go) As a bicycle rider, I have a love-hate relationship with roundabouts. I love that I can just cross whenever it's safe, rather than waiting for a light to change. I hate that every driver seems to think they are far, far more important than me and why should they stop so I can go? So yeah. Love-hate. And I live in the suburbs, where there are a good amount of both right where my neighborhood is. Another big point in favor of roundabouts is that if the power goes out, they keep working. So yeah. Put me down in favor of roundabouts, even if they drive starting drivers nuts.
  12. Quality of Foods / GMO/ Organic etc.

Yeah, but I just finished AP Chem last year, so when I hear "Chloride" I think Cl-.
  13. Quality of Foods / GMO/ Organic etc.

The switching of 3 hydroxyl groups w/chloride ions sounds fascinating. And yeah, I know. It's glucose bonded to fructose = sucrose. At least, that's what they told us in AP Bio.
  14. Heck, I just want fireworks so I can have really cool light shows on the server with my friends.
  15. The Craft.

Tried absinthe? I'm 17, so I've never had it, but I hear it's got so much alcohol that it can and will induce hallucinations.
  16. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Actually, chainmail really comes into its own against sharp things when padding is worn under it, so the chain converts the edged impact into a blunt one, and the padding lessens the blunt impact, and hence the injury. Warhammers were developed to simply ignore plate, which is awful against blunt impacts because it transmits the force, without absorbing very much at all. Thank you, DF forums. Also, I point to the perfect medieval anti-armor weapon : the English Longbow.
  17. The Craft.

Doesn't Portugal have absolutely no drug laws? Or is it Poland I'm thinking of?
  18. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

    Biotech lab?
  19. Organic Combat Programming

Well, I didn't intend for it to go that deeply in, I just like how in DF certain metals are better for certain weapons(Silver for blunt, adamantine/steel for sharp), and certain metals are bad for all weapons(copper). Also, the fact that certain armor types do better against certain types of attacks is very nice.
  20. The Craft.

How often does someone ANYWHERE see one of the third-party candidates? And frankly, I prefer the US system to the Israeli system, where it's impossible to get anything done, good or bad.
  21. NEI? It works for SOTMead (I've seen the blocks, at least)
  22. And I will guarantee you that exactly 0% of those mods add blocks or items.
  23. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Also, apologies about double post, but.... I put that "recipe" up for a comparison of the same recipe in Imperial and Metric. Naturally, I would use kg for almost everything, seeing as this is not a biotech lab, where lots of something is "grams and grams and grams" Poor tonal synthesis guys...
  24. Direct use of all metals for tools etc

Good question. Welcome to the derailment ability of this forum.
  25. A multi-OS minecraft mod manager & launcher

If you can't get it to work, post the source code on SourceForge and I'll see if my computer can compile. I'm just in the initial phases of C++ coding, but I understand compiling code. (Using Code::Blocks GNU compiler)
