      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. I was only here for around a few months actively, and since then just ghosting about the forums looking at references for my lone playthrough, and keeping an eye out for potential servers rising up. (With no success really) Seeing as how this thread started... 3 years ago? I can't imagine how it was back when updates were rare but still happening, everything's kinda slowed into a game of praying that TFC2 isn't lost in development Purgatory while the rare and few enjoy TFC's last version for what it was left as. I suppose with the versions having stopped, and TFC's prime being yester-years ago, the forum's just been running through a slow age of people running the paces of TFC until there's nowhere forward to move, and servers aren't staying populated enough to really build the community around.
  2. I managed to revive my forum account to bring up a question I've hunted through the entire thread on, and that is a lack of a basic FAQ on how some of the mechanics work. So far I've managed to derp my way along making two double copper plates, before realizing the evaporation pan used two normal plates, then I figured out I actually needed to smith the damned thing. (haha) Afterward, my lacking of fireclay proved to rob me of potential hot spring fertilizer (oh well), And now I'm trying to figure out how much soy paste goes into making soymilk, and if soymilk can end up curdling like standard milk or do any other milk-like things. I hope you don't take my short statements here as an amount of irritation, honestly I love this mod, even if either my inability to find information or small bugs like the TFC's standard Quiver not working with the Longbow (To my understanding there's another quiver?) keeps bringing me back to this thread with limited fruition. So is there some reference guide to the mod's mechanics?
  3. [0.79.15] Rhodance's "HugBox" Server [Closing May 22]

I am applying on my forum account for my girlfriend, who's standing behind me, and myself. just to clarify why there's two applications here. ^^; (Myself.) IGN: Codaisthisguy Age: 21 Why this server?: I'm just looking for a server with a great community for me and my girlfriend to enjoy being a part of. ^^ 2 sentence description of yourself/interests: I'm just another TFCrafter who has been stuck on Singleplayer and crappy LAN connections. I'm a tinkerer and a problem solver myself, love a bit of fun and silliness but I don't tolerate broken rules or people being unpleasant. I'm really interested to see what it's like to play TFC on a server.(Girlfriend.) IGN: Beth30 Age: 19 Why this server?: It sounds fun to join a TFC server for the first time and meet new people. 2 sentence description of yourself/interests: I'm a very friendly but curious person who's shy and adventurous and loves to make new friends. I'm also someone who likes to express my ideas and thoughts threw my art and loves to hear complements from other people and when I can I try to lend a helping hand to people and friends in need. All together I'm just a bubbly person.
  4. Say it should be like a quiver in a way, carry about 8 stacks of logs and a pair of tools. Not exactly realistic, but it is believable, and handy.
  5. Suggestion Categories

Well, it's easy to run out of small tweaks when everyone agrees to some degree on how gameplay mechanics are. I'm sure there are plenty of little things that haven't been mentioned, but they're probably biased to gameplay styles, instead of just suggesting something interesting. This idea of subcategories is pretty nice, and it is going to be a lot of work. Sounds like another forum moderator may need to be added to the roster to help out in that case. Already seems like Kitty has her hands full. This is only going to add onto it.
  6. Suggestion Categories

Good organizational idea in my eyes, just as long as it's limited to relevant topics for the mods. (Gameplay, items, mods, etc.)It'd be nice to have an updated directory too, since there's certainly a lot of wonderful ideas getting buried. With that kind of organization, it may make it easier for devs to decide what they would like to consider adding to the game. ^^
  7. Mobile back mounted log carrying aparatus.

We'll stick it with the combustible lemons on the "needs a complicated acronym for the sake of portal references." list.
  8. Mobile back mounted log carrying aparatus.

Think things already slow you down by weight, and that's kinda the point as far as slinging something over your back. So as to not burden you as much. The beauty of the idea is that it's not tied to what age you're in. It's meant simply to help in collecting excess amounts of wood, or just to keep them out of your inventory. Logs are heavy, so slinging them on your back would also help with the burden of their weight, and make it easier to manage/ reduce the amount of speed you lose for carrying the same amount in your inventory. The issue I see now is how much wood it would be able to carry, should be believable, but not too unrealistic/realistic. I'd say 8 stacks would be good, myself, putting it on par with the quiver in size and inventory management, as well as giving it some what of a competitive weight to a stock full barrel on one's back. any other opinions?
  9. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

I had an idea for this, either knap a cross through a stone to break it into 4 small throw-able stones per stone, or knap the corners off of a single stone. The latter is a bit tedious, but given that it's the stone age, and probably the only crush damage throw-able that makes some sense, it seems a fair trade for the idea.
  10. Mobile back mounted log carrying aparatus.

No, all they need is the right plant... that I can't remember the name too... and a large vessel. So they'll be in the clay age, or they can go right to the early metal ages and still have the benefit of a "mass" storage for logs while trying to collect for things like construction or charcoal pits.
  11. Mobile back mounted log carrying aparatus.

Thank you for all the support, here's hoping the devs like the idea as much as the community does. They're the ones who have to put up with making it a part of the game. ^^
  12. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

Give snowballs a de-buff affect, like blinding or slowness for a very brief period of time, given the fact that someone was just thumped with a clump of snow.
  13. A slight modification to logpile block physics

think it should have the "toss it in" system, toss a whole stack into a log pile, it'll fill up and add another pile on top if possible.
  14. [Solved] The bow ain't firin Lads.

So I am back in my first world here, making my improvements. (Props to the community here for rapid responses, you guys are on the ball. ^^)I crafted myself a bow and quiver, have a stockpile of arrows thrown over my back to help combat the less pleasant wildlife of the night...Zombie walks up to my workshop, ready the bow and hold right click...Nothing happens...Left click?Swinging it like an idiot.Took the arrows out of the quiver, played around, the bow just isn't working. Is this a bug or a human error on my behalf?
  15. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

Plant fiber implies that you can't build stone tools "everywhere", since it'd probably need grass/branches. which would also need a knife. Self defeating unfortunately.I personally prefer the idea of allowing someone to craft things like cobblestone with mortar, allowing it to stand without falling over, and be used as a gravity free block. The rest arleady are gravity free to some extent, maybe besides smooth stone.
  16. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

make more sense for slashing to do damage, and piercing to do reduced damage. Slashing a bone in half is a bit less destructive, but it will still break the bone.
  17. [Solved] I don't understand the mortar recipe

Easy. for Limewater, fill a bucket with water, then add flux into the gui slot. there's only one there when you add liquid, but you will probably need a good amount. (Think it's 24 for a full barrel, not sure.)I don't think the mortar one is actually the case. as I recall. You craft a single sand block, over a piece of flux, and a water bucket below. need the 3x3 crafting grid though.
  18. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

Were there any other applications for rotting meat in history? Something's on the tip of my tongue but can't recall.
  19. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

Coffee! But I'd like a version that respects how the real process works for making that addicting black gold, as well how it can work with the mod in a believable way. Not overpowered, but convenient.
  20. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

Throwable stones, slight crushing damage, tossed like snowballs. A little bit more fair than trying to whoop on skeletons with a hand hammer.
  21. Ceramic bowls - another tedium

Agreed, developers... feex eet.Silliness aside, maybe find a reason for bowls to break based on lower cooking skill or something. Like someone who can't cook well wouldn't know that ceramic isn't rock proof or something.
  22. Some observations of how people play

I found 15 spider silk over the time of a single game year, since spiders don't drop string often... I can't even make a single piece of cloth yet.
  23. 1001 Small Suggestions: Community Brainstorming~!

Small additional idea there, make it so it adds something like "it tastes a bit odd." to the taste tooltip in early skills of cooking, but make it so that also shows with varying levels of decay. while an expert chef would look at it and the tooltip would be red and read. "This food has been poisoned!" (I realize these ideas are similar to another mod, so not as good a suggestion as I first thought.) -I'd like to see the back slot mechanic branch out to a tool belt idea. Something you can craft and place next to your pants slot that gives you an extra hotbar slot off to the side. -Maybe use the same idea to add a back slot next to it that you can scroll to. In case you have a quiver or something of that sort and you just want to right click with it to restock or get into your ammo supply.
  24. Torch Poll

That's pretty good to hear. I think many people just want to see better lighting alternatives for houses and bases. Many people make thier lighting discreet, and hiding a torch behind glass becomes a waste for relighting it.I like and tolerate the relighting process, but for keeping a larger place lit, I've had to leave my faith to the spawn protection mechanic, with very mixed results. That also being said, unless a town hires someone to be the town torch lighter. (Even though someone could make the argument that all the players there would make the spawn protection mechanic wider spread and stronger, I don't think anyone likes walking down dark streets at night.) Maybe, a permanent light option could be made that can't, or has a chance not to be recovered if it's broken. That way it's saved for permanent use at the cost of remaking it, and since it's cost would be more than worth what a torch could do everywhere else, it'd balance the mechanic in a way everyone could agree with.I'm just trying to juggle ideas here to see what sticks and makes the majority more at ease, but in the end of all this, the config does have the option to change torch mechanics, so that's what it is for single player use, but people on servers are going to have to buckle down and bear what the server owner has set for it.
  25. A use for Galena

To juggle the idea of batteries, for anyone that's seen mythbusters. They literally made a very weak battery out of clay vessils, and it did work for oxydization.Personally, I'm no expert on how alloys work, but it would be pretty nice to see a way to use something like a crucible to seperate alloys to their base elements. Galena in that case could just be considered a nature made alloy that you'd have to melt down. This idea being for waaaay into the late gameplay due to it's complexity, but that's just my opinion.
