ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -
This forum is now READ ONLY! 01/20/2020
As of this post and forever into the future this forum has been put into READ ONLY MODE. There will be no new posts! A replacement is coming SoonTM . If you wish to stay up-to-date on whats going on or post your content. Please use the Discord or Sub-Reddit until the new forums are running.
Any questions or comments can be directed to Claycorp on either platform.

Better Grass and Leaves mod is now compatible with Terrafirmacraft. I can hook you up with configs and/or texture files if that's needed.

When you installed Optifine, you should've been setting up runtime keyword "-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true". Check if it's there.

What Minecraft launcher are you using?

Grain is a food item, and using just grain to plant the crop without converting it into seeds will provide couple of different right-click behaviours, that program will need to decide between. That is my take on why devs didn't allow this - extra step in planting cereals is not particularly hard to do, especially considering cereals are actually yield twice as much seed and a bit of straw during the crafting process.

That sounds strange. Mine allocates 1.4 gb max, but generally uses somewhere about 650-700 mb, and doesn't lag all that bad, unless I generate a bunch of new chunks in quick succession - then it's noticeable, and still I wouldn't call that insane. What if you try to play without optifine installed? What will that be like?

From what I've gathered, this kind of caving just doesn't stop, even when theres only one block "floating" and the wall is right next to it. Which means you "sure can't build a dome". What's that all about? Do you force cave-in with that cracked block?

I know Java, yes. It's just that I'm kinda lazy to find documentation on how to write things for Minecraft. Mostly it's just "look how others do this and do the same" - that's not how you supposed to do it, that leads to replication and anchoring of bad coding habits. But thread got heavily derailed now, I have to say. Back to original discussion, maybe?

Point me how, and I'll code it. And some other things too.

Type: World generation error Codename: Herobrine Category: Non-essential Description: On world gen blocks sometimes seem to have wrong IDs, including generation of vanilla player-made blocks. Example screenshot: Deleted your config?: Yes, this has happened on clean installation.

You see, if we adding carts and wagons, it's all good to have more limited inventory. Just limiting inventory is not good and tedious. Limiting inventory to realistic amounts is quadrouple of that. Carrying a single building block at a time in a building game just cause it's realistic is not good, not fun and tedious, even with wagons, that can pull ten times that. Because ten building blocks is not enough to build a single wall for a house, we all know that. Unless the "house" is an outhouse one by one by two inside, which is ten blocks exactly. Sure, guarding your wagon on the way can be fun. If fighting is fun, when it really is not in Minecraft, even more so with limitless zombie spawns of 1.6.2. Yes, I'm aware of the mod that did just that forcing player to fight every single second of their playtime with hundreds of zombies that can break blocks and build towers with their mates' bodies Like the opening post says - there should be balance. How many 2-kilometers trips you have to do one after another for it to not become stale activity? All of them? And two kilometers is too easy, let's make it ten? Do you really have to carry a single block out of the mine and dump it on the surface to mine the next block? And then the next and the next, all those three and a half hundreds of blocks it took you to find the next copper deposit? Or can we just have, like, eight trips and not completely ruin the landscape?

I have a feeling that separate pages can still be useful to have just in case. But I'm for consolidation.

The previous post reminded me about my kind of an old contraption, which has suddenly got significantly more useful lately. Albeit it is more limited in terms of where you can build it. It doesn't need to be bricks, but there does have to be cobble. Or dirt, if you can keep it from overgrowing by grass. Sadly, you need buckets that can pour water. But if you do, just pour it into a hole and boom. For now, I build it near the shore and plug the hole with fast-breaking blocks, like reeds. Main downside - it is slow, so you should plan your moves ahead.Though it is quite satisfying to trap someone inside. And you, obviously, required to have a pick (to reset it) and a saw (to build it to begin with).

All of the above is fine, but what the hell you need soap for in minecraft?

Brass? Maybe, if you lucky enough to have a place where its components come from. Which is not guaranteed what so ever. Stone? No and no, it is the same thing as before. So, basically what you are saying is - if player is not okay with game continuously throwing him over a dick, he is allowed to cheat? That's never a good design choise, you know.

I haven't noticed anyhing of the sorts. Build 77.11, barrels right next to stone block (for the looks' sake) don't render some of their sides. <place reserved for screenshot>

On a subject of eating rotten flesh, I can recommend this particular meal. Careful, though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igunaq This isn't just sea mammals, like wikipedia says, but deer can be prepared like that too, assuming you've got enough swamp.

Dats right, let's make the game unplayable upon death, that'll teach those that treat it like a game! Remember this: most deaths happen at early levels of game progression. This means you can't sacrifice a baby sheep, because you don't have any. And you can't build a totem out of stone, because top of what you have is cobble, and don't even start thinking about brass and gems at that point. And then even more happiness: once you die without a totem built - you're in the middle of nowhere, lost what little progress you've made and god forbid you didn't write your home coordinates somewhere on a piece of paper(which is in itself a dumb idea noone should ever indulge), because that means you almost certainly forced to start over.

Why is Native Copper in Slate and Kaolinite in Chert?
transcengopher replied to ___Frank's topic in Discussion
Well. Surface slate might be on top of basalt, and native copper nuggets came from basalt-copper vein. Finding ore in rock it's not supposed to spawn in - that's a problem.- 4 replies

It is, technically. Doesn't crash instantly, for one thing. Other thing is that mod's grass doesn't render on TFC blocks and "better leaves" are using improper texture. Looks something like this. I think, I can handle comiling proper "rounded" textures, but they will still need to be registered in the blocks' class. Digging through stuff, I'm annoyed mod's author hasn't left any config of any kind to register textures. Though I can see why, I'm still annoyed. Erm... Furnace block, Malachite block (is it really?), crossbows, colored candles. Edit: Oh, oh! I can place candles on ceiling and walls, and that looks unintended.

But then, Nether is supposed to be reworked since, like, beta1b17 or something like that.

i wish they would just make an entirely separate game :/
transcengopher replied to gnomesmasher's topic in Discussion
That would require to write a ton of extra low-level stuff, like world storage, bunch of render functions, sound engine and things that hold all that together. -
I may or may not ask weird things, but is it possible to add this mod support in TFC via this addon? Or do I need to bug Dunk/Bioxx for that?

13w36 might as well be the first snapshot where Mojang kind of won me back a bit. Implementation I don't know if I like, but ideas are ince. Although it's not bloody modding API again.

Clay, clay everywhere and the horror of vessels!
transcengopher replied to Bbushh's topic in Suggestions
Let devs add wheelbarrows first, shall we? Oh, and I recall seeing things like weight system implemented, why not think this way instead of the way you all seem to go about things? Taking the ability out that is. And to the original topic - clay wasn't rare, it's just you couldn't find it easier like after the addition of those flowers. -
Installed. Off to play some. Thank you.
