      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Dirt Roads

and those dirt roads up there sure look gorgeous!
  2. Crafting Sandstone

The Millenaire mod does mud brick blocks by crafing wet mud bricks together, placing them on the ground (needs to be open sky) and then leave them there for a couple of minutes and the whole block will harden. it works for what it does in Millenaire but for TFC i could picture us placing the bricks down just like you place ingots. but you can only place one layer for obvious reasons. and then you'd have a bunch of dried mud bricks. But honestly if we're gonna use mud for building material i would be more interested in whattle and daub.
  3. Rain Barrel for Irrigation

really good suggestion! i hope the devs consider it!
  4. Woven Clothes

I'll take your word for it!
  5. straw beds

place two straw blocks on the ground and stand at one of the ends, right click the blocks with a piece of raw hide. Tadaah! (it won't skip the night though, wah wah waaaaaaah)
  6. Fishing with spear or net

or you just make them flee once you get too close, like, we're talking a meter or two, you should be able to nail them with a spear from 3 meters away!
  7. Tracking Skill

deer and small game you should obviously be able to hunt by yourself. however, if Dunk ever finishes that elephant he teased us with many eons ago, this creature should deffinetly only be possible to kill with the help of a gang of players Or at the very least, the cost of your foot and your finest shirt!
  8. Tracking Skill

I see you're new to the forum. no guys at all is Bioxx's verdict on the matter, the village/npc suggestion has been brought up many times before and the developers are pretty fed up with hearing about it again and again. I hope someone goes to work and produces a village/npc addon for the mod so the suggestion can finally be put to rest!
  9. Tracking Skill

and freaking boars man! give them a reason to attack and they will turn stuff up side down! i was hiking out in the woods by myself once when i suddenly stumbled right into a family of wild boars. never did i notice them until they where three meters away (rather dense vegetation) despite them having piglets in the group they didn't bother going after me, but i fled none the less. and jesus christ do you underestimate their size from pictures
  10. Tracking Skill

it's one of those things that aliens would marvel at when they went to safaris on earth. yeah you see that super strong lion down there, and that huge elephant! and the mega fast antelope! those are all cool and all! but look over there! that's the human! once he finds your tracks, which he will. oh he will.. once he finds your tracks he will follow you for days and weeks! and he will never. give. up. you can run and you can hide, but the human will find you.
  11. Tracking Skill

    and wolves
  12. Tracking Skill

yeah but for the sake of gameplay we need something to fill in for the skeletons and zombies and stuff. can't be all cotton walk and dandy fluff out there!
  13. Replace Fire Pit with Campfire

yet the fire pit texture clearly shows rocks forming a circle around the fire. it might be completely useless to do but picking up a few rocks (there are A LOOOOT of rocks laying about) and using them in the creation of a fire pit sounds like a nice addition! Especially if building the thing would work the same way as pit kiln does. It should be noted though that bioxx wants to keep highly detailed models to a minimum and this camp fire that OP talks about sounds pretty detailed. i think it's been said before that the fire pit won't change into a 3D model. Having multible textures for each build stage of the fire pit would be well enough for me.
  14. Tracking Skill

how about this. make wild creatures notice the player from much farther away and have them flee at this point. if you're in a forest this would mean you might not even see or hear the flock of deer that simply took to the left long ago to avoid you. (many animals of the forest have much better smell and hearing than we do so this wouldn't be entirely unbelieveable) to successfully approach you would have to sneak your way around to silence your footsteps (and to inexplicably mask your smell) and to know just where the hell to go this is where tracks would be super usefull! edit: can i sneak jump?
  15. Fishing with spear or net

the problem i've found is that they usually spawn a bit off shore and rarely moves closer to the beach, meaning that you'll be literally throwing your spears into a lake. and even if you did hit them you'd still end up with a fish item and a spear on the bottom of the lake. which in hindsight might not sound that serious if it's a tinier shallow lake. but usually for me it's a big ass deep lake. for spear fishing (and net tossing too) to be a truly viable fishing method there should be a way to attract fish closer to the beach. say if you where to throw in a bait (rotten meat?) to lure fish closer for you to then pluck out with a spear or a net. I don't think they flee from you which also kinda need to change.
  16. make bushes.. unpickupable?

Shoot me if this has been suggested before. Something just struck me as i was filling my inventory with bush.. heh.. bush... Why can i pick up an entire bush, carry it to my house and plomp it down again without any trouble? it seems waaay too easy. I mean the whole lifestyle of the average stone age person would've revolved around scavenging the land for its berries and nuts and roots and little critters and all that kind of crap. But lets stay at berries for now. i propose that you deny us from picking that bush up. if we want berries we're gonna have to get out there and find the suckers. not just poke our heads out the door and grab all we want. Either you make them destroyable like leaves which would force you to go out into the big scary woods risking your life for a handful of berries. or you atleast allow us to plant them by seed so we can make some pretty (and augh so convenient) berry hedges. how does that sound?
  17. make bushes.. unpickupable?

you should probably gain knowledge from failure too, at the loss of the seed or plant of course. other than that i like the third option the most.
  18. make bushes.. unpickupable?

once every year couldn't possibly become tedious. think of it more like a tradition! i agree with the end reward though! with time and work you should be rewarded with convenience.
  19. make bushes.. unpickupable?

Think about it though. Doesn't that sound like an absolute adventure? something that you wish to spend days in game to reach? the point of TFC isn't to make things convenient! (and i really don't think this would completely ruin the game for anyone) I mean it when i say i don't want the convenience of having everything at one place.
  20. make bushes.. unpickupable?

Am i really the only one around here that don't want to be able to relocate bushes to my garden? i honestly don't care what you can do in real life. the core point of the OP is to emphasize on foraging in the wilderness! not in the safety of your enclosed fortress. berries really isn't that important that you HAVE to be able to take bushes with you as you go. you won't starve from berry deprivation as there's plenty of fruit to go around all over the place. Needing a certain amount of skill to dig up bushes, now i like that! it sounds like a simple solution and makes it only an early game limitation. seeds and shears just complicates it all.
  21. Fireflies

If anything it would add a whole lot of atmoshpere! I know that in the Conquest texture pack there's an animated retexture of the web block that makes it look like flies flying around. I'm certain that if you coded the same kind of block, gave it an animated texture of fireflies, waved a magic wand around, mumbled some unholy words and wrote some code for it, you could totally make that block emit light too! it would look cool as hell during night. wierd during the day though....
  22. Woven Clothes

i think cloaks would be more sensible than a blanket, or more or less the same thing..
  23. Woven Clothes

That got me wondering if Bioxx plans to make overheating a thing too! like near the equator with all the deserts and jungles and stuff. a straw hat could keep that skull nice and coool when things get tropical!
  24. combat tips in the stone age for new players

What if you trapped the sucker in a square of logs and set everything on fire house burned down? it was probably worth it.
  25. combat tips in the stone age for new players

if you're being chased by zombies, spiders and creepers, head to higher ground, as they follow you up the cliff you charge them and punch them down the clff. fall damage is a great early game weapon. if you're being chased by skeletons all you can do is run.
