ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -
This forum is now READ ONLY! 01/20/2020
As of this post and forever into the future this forum has been put into READ ONLY MODE. There will be no new posts! A replacement is coming SoonTM . If you wish to stay up-to-date on whats going on or post your content. Please use the Discord or Sub-Reddit until the new forums are running.
Any questions or comments can be directed to Claycorp on either platform.

Here we go again You didn't create a useless alloy, maybe it has no buffs but it doesn't making it useless (do you have any buffs now?) Example: you have 9 iron and 1 copper combining then will result in 10 alloys that are 90% iron and 10% copper The closest similar metal is iron Therefor it's still iron (but with a little copper) And it will acts EXACTLY like iron, (maybe it even earned some bonuses..) you lost something? NO you earned because now you have more iron. And no, you can't convert any metal into iron by using to much copper you are gonna get copper instead of iron. Again you can think of juices: by combining apple juice with water you get more apple juice as long as you don't add too much to make it just water same with metals: adding some copper into iron wont ruin it.. but make it bigger, as long as there is enough iron, it's gonna act similar to one

Never saw single person carry tons of stones in his bag, or sprint for a few kilometers..How fun will it be to mine a stone block for a few days?
-
Well.. it's EXACTLY 90

Easy Method to Gather Raw Stone Quickly
Vlad replied to Syrolux's topic in Videos ( and Live Stream )
The best technique is where you mine the minimal amount of stone, perfect is when almost every stone will yield a raw stone. So the more ground you cover the better the technique, for example: o - you mine x - you leave First layer:(make it a chess board) oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox oxoxoxoxoxo xoxoxoxoxox oxoxoxoxoxo xoxoxoxoxox oxoxoxoxoxo xoxoxoxoxox oxoxoxoxoxo xoxoxoxoxox oxoxoxoxoxo image: Second layer: repeat this patern- xoxooo xox So it looks like- xoxoxoxoxoxoooxoooxooo xoxoxoxoxox oxoooxoooxo xoxoxoxoxox oooxoooxooo xoxoxoxoxox oxoooxoooxo xoxoxoxoxox image: Third layer looks like the second but moved to the side by one cell: oxoxoxoxoxoooxoooxooox oxoxoxoxoxo xoooxoooxoo oxoxoxoxoxo ooxoooxooox oxoxoxoxoxo xoooxoooxoo oxoxoxoxoxo image: the fourth layer is just like the third but moved to the same side by another cell. Result: (lets say your mining area is in size A) first leyer - mined A/2 second leyer - mined 2*A/3, yield A/2 raw stones third and so on - mined 2*A/3, yield A/3 raw stones on a perfect infinite plane you get a raw stone for every 2 stones you mine. Problems: since your plane wont be infinite you will always get shorter on the sides so the bigger the ground you start with the more you get. Also it's impossible to get 1:1 mined raw ratio because some sides always get blocked, but this method is close enough. But before you start mining: Once I mined lots of raw stone, then I asked why do I need it? -
I can approve the my chisel has hit, hit, draw rules as well, so I guess they aren't random. The tool was knife, the rules are hit, draw, draw, since It was steal the target was far to the right (I guess the red/still are even more right?), so draw, draw, hit require a big distance from the right edge, making it impossible to reach perfect, can you make red/blue knife at all?

The first is simple (non bug), after you melt the first unshaped ingot, it got into the output slot, after melting the second, if filled what it could in the first mold and the rest dropped out living an empty mold in the input slot, you should always make sure you have empty molds in the output.Second maybe not a bug either, maybe you just lucky exactly filled the first mold so nothing left for the second mold. Also since you are melting metals in the firepit, it's safe to assume you are smelting small ores, and they only yield a small amount or metal, so the second 'bug' is easy to explain.

Some times it happens that the hammer brakes in a middle without even noticing, but this is not what happen? It's hard to guess, make a video if you can, this would really help.
-
Yeah.. I guess I used the wrong word there, I meant the cutting action..
-
Just to say, I don't see why it's hard to implement and even simple. I'm just disappointed the people seams to misunderstand me 110%? What we in Russia? Anyway, if you combine iron + copper you get 2 alloys that are 50% iron 50% copper, there is no loss here. Same as with meals: apple + peach + steak = nothing special, but if you add olive you get strength 4 So I see people are missing my point Iron is still iron even if the alloy is 90% iron and 10% silver, but same as with meals that could make a huge difference. Also like with meals alloys won't only show you they name but what they made from: 50% iron ... NOTHING is going to change the game now, only add, you still can make steel and red or blue.. This only adds buffs like with meals. Same same No you do not waste anything, and all the metals/alloys you have now are stay as they are, no new metals pop up and you don't need to worry about it. Think of it as of cups with juices, you can apple , orange and peach juices, if you combine apple with orange you get 2 cups of 50% apple and 50% orange, you didn't loss anything except now you can't have your apple juice I not sure this is a bad place for numbers, the buffs I suggested are going to be in ranges, so anything between 10-20 will suit., so no worry about anything specipic.I really made sure nothing is going to change in the game, also if it's really scary to see the number, we can make them hidden and let you rename the alloy you created. The most close metal (black steel for example) is going to decide the base stats for the alloy, from they you might get some buffs. So basically try all you want red/blue are still the best, unless you will create something similar to them with buffs.

No, don't try going into the nether: http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/2533-b66-nether-portal-crash/

Of course, by placing the sapling and the wood on the same block and who knows what happen.. or similar things. The point is that small bug + small bug + small bug = a big swarm, he can't make a release because of each small bug and most probably have other priorities, the only thing is wait.
-
Size is already random.. no? What is depth of the vein?We are talking about stuff you should try, see and learn. Durability is hidden, unknown and you can't find it out (unless really bored). How do you know that it's not already random (same reason it shouldn't be added) Something that is a far shot: I read that the All seeing eye suggested the idea of combining any metals to get alloys, this system can be similar to the meals system, It's hard to decide which new metal you will get (textures and stuff), but it can be so the first metal is the base and the rest adds properties, like +20% durability or what ever, so for example you can blend 3 bronze with iron to get a tougher bronze. That's what I meant. Not necessary equal, that is called uniform random. I think there was a misunderstanding, by rules I meant the anvil crafting rules.
-
Same as with meals, random from world to world, but stays the same in each world.I guess I'm just lucky to get this rules, anyway such combination should be impossible to get.
-
Looks cool, maybe the particles should be smaller? 1/16 or 1/32 of a block.
-
That's what I meant. Not necessary equal, that is called uniform random.

Now you can find all the alloys cost in the wiki: http://terrafirmacraft.com/wiki/Alloys

Ever wondered how much iron you need to make one red metal? Here is a chart that will show you exactly how much pure metal you need for each alloy metal: (doesn't show the order, but the total amount used) Absolute values: Decimal values:

Anvil suggestions: 1) The first suggestion is irrelevant anymore Sometimes I want to move the anvil arrow left or right (since i'm far from the target) and without noticing this meets the rules so I get a damaged weapon when I wasn't even trying. So why not add another button as powerful as the 'bend' or 'draw' but that do not appears in the rules so you can't confuse and finish the tool by a mistake. It's not gonna make anvil any easier (read note 3) 2) Making perfect tools should be more rewarding, how about 80% damage for bad tools (the really bad ones). Notes: 1) Please don't say anvils are hard on purpose. It has nothing to do with difficulty, just to avoid some mistakes. 2) Please do not say that the tool can't be that damaged because it's already was almost done. I didn't say stop working and improving the tool either, but it just did.. (not everything is believable in this game) 3) Let's call those actions 'punch left' and 'punch right'. if the rule say: draw, bend, shrink then doing: draw, bend, punch left, shrink won't be a valid row of hits. So what I say is that this action will only be useful at the beginning, like this: punch right, punch right, punch right, punch right, draw, bend, shrink Therefor it won't make anything easier, explain yourself if I miss something.

I guess I completely missed his point then Sorry.

About "require their own ores" here comes the more different stone:some stones should be more harder to mine through and there may be height tier ores.

So there shouldn't be any problems with variety even with "real" approach, with fantasy is even more simpler. So the question is who would like more variety?
