      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Ok, my last seed request was a bust. I found igneous rock, but it took me a while to get away from spawn. Here's my updated requirements(although I'd like to have someone delete my previous request, or archive it for posterity, idk). Ok, the requirements for this seed: Tons of copper/cassiterite close to spawnPlenty of wood near spawn for a charcoal pit(Either a Douglas Fir, Willow, or Sequoia forest)Must be relatively flat land at water level. Speaking of water, I'd like a pool of fresh water nearby for easy thirst-quenching.Need igneous rock for an early anvil, and fluxstone for double-ingots.
  2. Use "Seed Request" forum

I'm pretty sure it should. If it doesn't I think it would be necessary to code it in, as some stone is much stronger than others.
  3. Use "Seed Request" forum

Yeah, I just added a requirement for flux and igneous rock as well. Idk why, but I've tried tools made of both igneous extrusive and metamorphic and haven't really seen too much of a difference in durability. Wonder why?
  4. Spawn with Fluxstone and Igneous rock

Make sure there are no spaces when copying and pasting. I got limestone on the first try and a unit of small malachite.
  5. Use "Seed Request" forum

I requested a seed and apparently although it got a good seed(only 1? I'm surprised.), it wasn't exactly what I was hoping. I made another request, it gets 140 views and no replies at all. I know people aren't online all the time, but really, just giving it tons of views doesn't exactly help.
  6. Problem loading the site.

I have a major problem regarding the site. I cannot load the site or view it at all without going through a proxy of some kind. I know that proxies are often dangerous to use due to the possibility of viruses infecting a computer through proxies. Any idea what might be causing this?
  7. Bridge to Terrafirma Craft

Yeah, I noticed pipes in build 78.13 and 14.
  8. [78.13] Great starter seed for beginners

Edited my original post. I need lots of copper and cassiterite. Any other requirements I have are also listed in OP.
  9. What I'm asking for: High chance for plenty of clay, for several early molds, jugs and vessels. As much native copper and cassiterite as you can possibly need to start out with.Igneous extrusive rock, preferably. Good chance of peat nearby for long lasting fuel.Preferred trees in order of importance: Willow(for charcoal pit), hickory(for long and hot burns, used for cooking food and generally keeping warm, and any other easy-to-chop tree that burns relatively long.I'd like quite flat terrain close to sea-level for easy house-building and farming. If possible, wild crops. Animals are a bonus, though I can 'cheat' and spawn a few in to at least give me a temporary supply of meat and a permanent supply of milk.
  10. Has anyone had any success using a gold pan?

Huh, I've had it function just great recently, have gotten plenty of copper, silver, gold and even a few platinum nuggets. I guess it still is a little OP in how many times I got nothing. Might want to raise the chances for copper slightly to allow people to have a better chance of making it into the bronze age.
  11. Wiki Edits/Suggestions

I read on the wiki that hickory burns at a high temperature yet in-game in my firepit it only burns below medium. Seems like either wrong info in the wiki or bugged wood code.
  12. [78.13] Great starter seed for beginners

What the heck is that backward-s shaped thing?
  13. Can't Change Spawn Point Post-49

I have a big pet peeve with this. Because of it I really have to make a huge pillar just so I know where I decided to make home base. Btw, have you guys tried finding wool and crafting a bed to change the spawn? It might work.
  14. 78.12 crash with ClassNotFound exception.

I did my best to install TFCraft correctly, with no other mods except for Optifine. Got a crash with this particular text: ---- Minecraft Crash Report ----// My bad.Time: 5/6/14 1:51 PMDescription: Exception in server tick loopjava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: TFC/Entities/AI/AIEatGrass at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredConstructors0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.privateGetDeclaredConstructors(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Class.getConstructor0(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Class.getConstructor(Unknown Source) at TFC.WorldGen.SpawnerAnimalsTFC.performWorldGenSpawning(SpawnerAnimalsTFC.java:277) at TFC.WorldGen.TFCChunkProviderGenerate.func_73153_a(TFCChunkProviderGenerate.java:204) at net.minecraft.world.gen.ChunkProviderServer.func_73153_a(ChunkProviderServer.java:258) at net.minecraft.world.chunk.Chunk.func_76624_a(Chunk.java:1243) at net.minecraft.world.gen.ChunkProviderServer.func_73158_c(ChunkProviderServer.java:153) at net.minecraft.server.management.PlayerInstance.<init>(PlayerInstance.java:51) at net.minecraft.server.management.PlayerManager.getOrCreateChunkWatcher(PlayerManager.java:193) at net.minecraft.server.management.PlayerManager.func_72685_d(PlayerManager.java:370) at net.minecraft.server.management.ServerConfigurationManager.func_72358_d(ServerConfigurationManager.java:282) at net.minecraft.network.NetServerHandler.func_72498_a(NetServerHandler.java:405) at net.minecraft.network.packet.Packet10Flying.func_73279_a(SourceFile:136) at net.minecraft.network.MemoryConnection.func_74428_b(MemoryConnection.java:89) at net.minecraft.network.NetServerHandler.func_72570_d(NetServerHandler.java:141) at net.minecraft.network.NetworkListenThread.func_71747_b(NetworkListenThread.java:54) at net.minecraft.server.integrated.IntegratedServerListenThread.func_71747_b(IntegratedServerListenThread.java:109) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.func_71190_q(MinecraftServer.java:691) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.func_71217_p(MinecraftServer.java:587) at net.minecraft.server.integrated.IntegratedServer.func_71217_p(IntegratedServer.java:175) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:484) at net.minecraft.server.ThreadMinecraftServer.run(SourceFile:583)Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: TFC.Entities.AI.AIEatGrass at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LaunchClassLoader.findClass(LaunchClassLoader.java:186) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) ... 24 moreCaused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LaunchClassLoader.findClass(LaunchClassLoader.java:178) ... 26 moreA detailed walkthrough of the error, its code path and all known details is as follows:----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- System Details --Details: Minecraft Version: 1.6.4 Operating System: Windows 7 (amd64) version 6.1 Java Version: 1.7.0_55, Oracle Corporation Java VM Version: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (mixed mode), Oracle Corporation Memory: 2579723920 bytes (2460 MB) / 4293918720 bytes (4095 MB) up to 4293918720 bytes (4095 MB) JVM Flags: 3 total; -XX:HeapDumpPath=MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance_javaw.exe_minecraft.exe.heapdump -Xms4G -Xmx4G AABB Pool Size: 1628 (91168 bytes; 0 MB) allocated, 1593 (89208 bytes; 0 MB) used Suspicious classes: FML and Forge are installed IntCache: cache: 0, tcache: 2, allocated: 1, tallocated: 31 FML: MCP v8.11 FML v6.4.49.965 Minecraft Forge 9.11.1.965 Optifine OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_D1 5 mods loaded, 5 mods active mcp{8.09} [Minecraft Coder Pack] (minecraft.jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Post-initialized->Available->Available->Available->Available FML{6.4.49.965} [Forge Mod Loader] (minecraftforge-9.11.1.965.jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Post-initialized->Available->Available->Available->Available Forge{9.11.1.965} [Minecraft Forge] (minecraftforge-9.11.1.965.jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Post-initialized->Available->Available->Available->Available tfc_coremod{0.78.12} [TFC[coremod]] (minecraft.jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Post-initialized->Available->Available->Available->Available terrafirmacraft{0.78.12} [TerraFirmaCraft] (TFC-0.78.12.jar) Unloaded->Constructed->Pre-initialized->Initialized->Post-initialized->Available->Available->Available->Available Profiler Position: N/A (disabled) Vec3 Pool Size: 925 (51800 bytes; 0 MB) allocated, 765 (42840 bytes; 0 MB) used Player Count: 1 / 8; [EntityPlayerMP['darthvader456'/153, l='New World', x=516.80, y=161.00, z=-8951.84]] Type: Integrated Server (map_client.txt) Is Modded: Definitely; Client brand changed to 'fml, forge'
  15. Good starter seed

I'm looking for a great starter seed for B78.12, and it has to have a good amount of wood and clay, with the possibility of peat nearby. Metals are a godsend for me since then I can really start mining. Edit: Found awesome area with Douglas Fir trees, and a pond perfect for refilling ceramic jugs, north of spawn. I felt like I was in heaven:
  16. All I want is the best seed you can possibly find for beginners. Plenty of bismuthinite, cassiterite and sphalerite. That's all I ask. Well, that plus a good forest nearby for plenty of logs and sticks and a relatively flat area for a house. Raw stone nearby for anvils is a bonus.
  17. Improved Stone Knapping Interface

Yeah, and on a different topic, some rocks are harder than others, and should last longer, as in basalt is way harder than say, shale. Depending on how hard a rock is, it would affect a tool's durability. Why should shale last as long as basalt? It's not quite challenging. Adding differing strengths to rocks would add more challenge, as it would force the player to search long and hard for a strong stone that can handle being used for a long period of time.
  18. Improved Stone Knapping Interface

Ok, one bugbear for me, why are the stone tools (pickaxe, prospector's pick) still obtainable by hacking(TMI, NEI) if one of the changelogs said they were removed? Plus, I don't see any problem in knapping out a stone pick in the early game instead of having to wait for a metal to be mined(sphalerite, bismuthinite, cassiterite, etc.). Btw, I support OP's idea!
  19. Use for bones

You know what, I actually agree with most of these ideas, and decoration is a use, considering it increases creativity, which is what Minecraft's core is. Although, a basic bone club would be the best idea for a primitive weapon.
  20. Arrow Heads: Stone and Beyond

Jed's idea, combined with increased retrieval rate for higher-tier arrows, and Just_Another's idea of poisoned arrows, sounds very logical. I agree here. Here's my idea of a structured tier: Stone Age: Any stone makes a basic, weak stone arrow, that does at least 2-3 hearts, with 3.5 on critical hit Bronze Age: Early metals like copper, tin and bronze would make light arrows, that are slightly stronger, doing 3-4 hearts of damage, only matching vanilla arrows' regular damage with critical hits. Most metals beyond(wrought iron, steel) would make heavier arrows(don't fly as far, but recover much more easily and do more damage, around 5-6 hearts of damage and 7 on critical hit.) Red, Black, and Blue steels would be left out, which is better since we don't need OP arrows.
  21. [Build75] Great Starting Seed

Yeah, I carved out the area nearby the bunch of schist that I found. I also used Rei Minimap so that I could find the basalt plains. Mostly found a small amount of sphalerite(raw zinc) nearby your spawn, but no copper, bismuth or tin. Did you find any? Also, never found that cavern, couldja post coords to it? Btw, increasing Java memory and tweaking OFine barely helped, but once I increased the paging file size, it really seemed to help. I'm fine now, haven't had near as many ticking memory crashes too.
  22. Ok, sorry. Psycho, I found your location via coordinates, and dug out a large area for my base with creative mode. Now, all I need to do is dig out schist and get a campfire and charcoal pit going. Then I'm good. How long does it normally take for white elm to grow?
  23. Dark swamp?

Hey duke, you know of any really good resource-rich starter seeds for 1.4.6? Even better, swamp seeds? I really wanted to see a swamp 8 biome for myself(to monkey the spotter's guide a bit with willow trees, huge charcoal pits etc.
  24. Game breaking lag at certain times

Yeah, and the not being able to jump on top of leaves? Shouldn't tree climbing be possible? It sure helped me to get a vantage point. Bioxx really needs to optimize this mod in the rendering/framerate areas mainly. After that, the game will be much more enjoyable.
  25. [Build75] Great Starting Seed

Yeah, the first time I heard it, I was like "What, cavemen are declaring war on me because I am now competition for food, etc.?" Then I realized it was just music and went, " AWWWWW YEAAAAHHHH!"Btw, for me that seed spawned me in a completely different shoreline. Imma use Rei minimap and check after rolling a new world. Hopefully I can come up with something similar to yours. Nvm, found out where you were by coordinates. The only problem I have with this mod is unbearable lag. I have to increase the paging file size to make Minecraft run faster.
