      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    no armor stand, but you can put them in anvils. Of course, it would be nice to be able to put them on an armor rack.

    I use Magic Launcher to play with mods. If you use it, you need a 1.5.1 version of minecraft.jar, the right version of forge and player api.

    you do not need winrar to open the launcher. it's a jar file, you just have to open it with java. It's like a software,it will pop up the window where you have to put your user name, that's it. you have "TFCLauncher.jar" right.... ?

    the launcher is "TFCLauncher.jar", if you have "TFCraft-Universal-Core-B2-Build76Hotfix14.zip" then you have the mod itself. My advice, try to download again, clicking on the right link.
  12. Problem with Texturepacks

    textures packs that are in the texture pack section of the forum and updated to 1.5.1 should work and change the tfc texture. You change the texture the same way as in vanilla. If you use the launcher, I guess you have to put the texture in the launcher's texture folder. Most of the tfc texture pack only cover tfc items. What I did is to unzip the texture pack in a folder in the texture folder, so it's easy to mix the texture you want. For example, I use the dirt texture of one pack and the ore of an other, all that on top of a vanilla pack. And now minecraft support mix of different resolution, so you can have 16, 32 and 64 pixel texture all mixed together in you custom pack. Can help more of you are not able to use a texture pack. Just ask.

    Sorry for double posting, this is a big review of page 2 bugs. I confirm, placing plank on a sign bloc crash the game. but there is many other blocks where the plank refuse to be places, as torch, grass and flower. For the knapping, I tried and no crash. I guess it's a good and bad thing. The good side of it is that you can put a chiseled block over a chest and it will open. However, I guess we can say it's a bug. I tried and was not able to reproduce. Did it happen more than once? Do you remember what kind of metal ? That one I noticed, will add. Will add Already reported, and I think you got the answer to your breeding problem. I don't have a big fruit tree, but as I remember, you are right. will add it to ingot placement crash

    I dug at level 60, found a lot of borax, lignite, bituminous coal, lapis, sylvite, gypsum and luckily after a whitle, limonite. Most of the time, i found vein of 2-3 different ore. like borax-coal-gypsum, or lignite-borax-limonite. Honestly, I do not know what kind of metal you can find at what dept. From my experience starter ore are at level 128, you can find some ore around 98-100, I always mine deeper, between 50 and 70 (so 60 is a good prospecting level), it's where I got everything I have right now.

    You do not need a pick to make a saw. Your saw can easily be your first tool, but I would not recommend it. When you get your first pick and pro pick, you can easily find your first vein of metal and get an early saw. It's not that far in the progression. And i don't think Dunk would agree about your idea since he once said he want plank to be impossible to craft with an axe.

    Omicron, I tought that is was intended that leftover metal would disappear. The "easy" solution to solve this bug is to put mold in the bloomery even if it's cold. You will get full mold at the temperature of the bloomery (in this case, cold one). As for the mold, if you start cooking a clay mold and don't finish the cooking, these mold won't stack with net mold, however, they are still usable. Still I guess we can ask for clarification about these issues.
  22. Balance use of Custom NPC mod.

    I think it would be a nice addon, but it's something a bit hard to manage. If you use custom npc to trade, using their coins, the item you get come from the void and the items you get go in the void. However, if you had to mint the coins you use, it mean that a player must act as the central bank. He have to mint the coin and find a way to distribute them to the other players ? How ? Buying resources from players to build public buildings ? Paying people for work they do for the community ? I tried to thing about a way I could create an economy based on Custom NPC in single player and I think it's hard as I would need to be the central bank/government and the people at the same time. Then if you play on a server, you would need to find a way to involve people in economy, and to stimulate the economy. I played on a server and I was able to get blue steel all by myself. I almost never bought items from other people, as I was able to get everything all by myself. I guess I would rather play with friends and share the work load and specialize a bit, but I would make a communist economy rather than a capitalist one, so money would not be used if everything belong to everybody.

    I discovered Custom NPC while playing on a TFC server and I really enjoyed some aspect of if, mainly the possibility to add boss and new enemies. When I started a new single player world, mainly to avoid the downside of playing on a server (griefer and people who destroy the landscape), I wanted to use some mods or options that are not available in TFC. My main problem was the fact that some mods require items not available, or no longer available in TFC. I tought I would only have to find a custom recipe editor, but at the time, the one I found was not available for 1.5.1. However, when I started looking at Custom NPC, I realized that I no longer need a custom recipe editor, as there is one in this mod. It is a easy and legit way to add more content to your TFC world. Here is some mods you might want to check and use along Custom NPC : Bibliocraft, Jammy furniture Mod, Hangable Maps, Small Boats (not available yet for 1.5.1) The goal in this topic is to discuss a way to balance the use of Custom NPC inside TFC, by suggesting recipe, NPC stats and other setting to make it as fair as possible. Initial setting Download link is available on Minecraft Forum. I got a bug in the inventory. Every time you click an item, it drop. To solve this problem follow these instruction. Adding custom recipe to your survival world To get the custom recipe, you need to use the NCP wand. Right click with the wand to spawn a NPC, go to the Global tab and select recipes There is two type of recipes, the one made in the crafting table (general) and those made on the carpentry table. As you need all the items to make a new recipe, you might want to start a creative test world to create the recipes. Once the recipes have been edited in the creative world, go to your save folder, in the savegame folder, you will find a "customnpcs" folder. From this folder, copy the recipes files and paste them in your survival world save folder. Getting new NPC I think that to spawn NPC should not be an easy task. If you think about it, there is NPC in Minecraft, the villagers, so why not turning them in custom NPC? The basic idea would be to get a villager and when it's day time, you replace it by one of your custom NPC. You only have to make the villager disappear... you know what I mean. There is no villages in TFC, but there is sometime zombie villagers that you could turn into villagers. To do so, you need a splash potion of weakness (require a brewing stand) and a golden apple. Please give your suggestions for the recipe for these two items. Brewing stand : In vanilla, the brewing stand is a late game item that require a visit in the nether. I want the recipe to be a bit complex so you don't get it too quickly, but you should be able to get it before blue/red steel, as you can only brew the weakness potion (otherwise you need nether warts, that are not available in TFC). I was thinking about using a piece of brass, like a brass sheet (I would have said brass rod but it'S not available in the bow mod). Golden apple : I think there should be two ways to get the apple, one from a recipe and the other way would be to trade it to one of you custom NPC for a set price. It would be possible to trade different items for cash that would be usable to buy the apple. One of the main and most useless item in TFC (with the exception of gems and minerals) is rotten flesh. If you think about it, you can imagine that you are paid to protect the village from the attack of the zombies. Other mod drop could also be sold to a NPC for cash, but you might prefer using these drops for something else. You can sell zombie flesh for one coin, and buy a golden apple 100 coins (this would require a coin changer of some sort). NPC stat Here i plan to add a table with life stats of your character and the attack value of the different weapons in the game. If you enable attack on a npc, it should only be able to attack as strong as the weapon you give them. As there is a lot of new weapons in Custom NPC, you might want to have a trader or a recipe to exchange a TFC weapon to one of these for example exchange a steel sword to a katana and give the attack value of the steel sword to the NPC using the For this section I would need your help to get the life point of a player, and the attack power of each type of weapon (including spear and arrow). Or else i will give have to guess and give data based on the number of hid required to kill some specific kind of mob. I will edit this post to reflect the latest discussion and to try to find good balanced recipes. Custom recipes

    I would say that there is two aspects to the idea of Quebec separation, economic and cultural. Even at some extends, political too. Some people say that our economy is not strong enough to support an independent country. Some people, mostly outside of Quebec say that Quebec is just sucking other provinces's money, like manaknife said. Quebec's north is full of ore that we can exploit to make money, but the government is almost ready to give it for free, then there is no way we can make money out of it. Of course, the cultural aspect is the one I think is the most important. Quebec's culture will not die if we stay a part of Canada, but how can we protect our ideology when we have a government that take decisions that we do not agree. For example, Harper's government took Canada out of Kyoto protocol, Quebec asked to stay in. They removed the gun registry, Quebec want to keep the information to have it's own provincial registry. How can we defend out ideology inside of a country who push forward and defend completely different ideas. As far as I know, Alberta is far more conservative. In Quebec, things like abortion and gay marriage are not even a topic we discuss, as most people say it's ok. On the other and, more conservative part of Canada want to fight against it and it's a big subject in their community.

    Over the compatibility problem, you would have a huge problem crafting the other mod's items as a lot of common items from vanilla do not exist in TFC. Even if a mod load and "work", you most likely will have to tweek the recipe to be able to use it. Edit I just found a video where the player installed TFC, IC2, Redpower2, Buildcraft and Forestry. Managed to use them together with custom stuff.... but how to install, no idea.
