      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Balance use of Custom NPC mod.

    It's a point, we don't know the mass of objects in the game. As for the 1m2, it's not true for all blocks, as there is 8 charcoal in one block and sulfur is only on the surface of the blocks and as for ore. We can easily argue that inside the block, there is only a part of it that is actually the ore itself. I do no complain about your gunpowder recipe... I did not even know that the recipe exist (ok, I just tried, it's good, and I don't care about the realism of the weight proportion, it make sense to say that it's the right amount for a perfect gunpowder). About the volume/weight of objects, I was thinking about a minting system that would allow players to make coins using custom alloy. The big problem Is that I realize you can not go by weight, only by volume. So you can not say that you want to make a coin that is 10 g of pure gold, you would have to say that you have a coin of like .5cm2 or something like that. And I also realized that with one ingot, you can make a lot of coins. Still don't know if I want to elaborate about this subject as I don't know what are the plans about money in TFC.

    Anybody thought about a bug tracking system for TFC? It would be easier to keep track of bugs and for the development team, It would be easier to know what are the issues with the last release of TFC. I tried to find a bug tracking system (like an extension) but I found nothing (at least nothing that is stable and up to date). Of course, there is many web based bug tracking software, but I don't like the fact that you have to create an account to report a bug (it would mean that you can have up to 3 account only for TFC). The easy solution I found is to use google code. Why I think it's a good solution? - Free - No installation require (only need to create a project and it's done). - Most people have a Google account to use one of their services, like Picasa, Blogger, Gmail, YouTube, Google +, GMail, Drive... Android phone owner who use Google Play... and more. - Can customize the bug report. Of course I think that people should talk about the issue on the forum before moving them to the bug tracker as many problems can easily be solved in the forum, but I think it would be a great tool to use.

    Then I see some options 1. Make it read only. At least we would know what are the known issues and what they are working to fix. 2. When an issue is reported on the forum, if it's confirmed as a bug, someone with access should say "it's added to the bug tracker. It would really be nice to at least know what are the bugs they have on their list. I'll ask you a good question then. Is it useless to update my bug list topic ? Honestly, I want to help cause I like to play TFC but I don't to do useless/unwanted things.

    I think that the second issue might be related to chest only. You can see that the chest are rendered in front of the waypoints too. P.S. thanks for reporting the bugs here too. i'll add them to the list and will test #3 and 4 of your topic. Edit 1 : First bug in texture, second in other. I'll also rework my list to add title. Edit 2 : I made a high charcoal pit covered by dirt. When it turned to charcoal, the dirt fell. Of course, it will be "floating" over any partial charcoal block. So I would say that it is working. For the plank on sapling bloc, I confirm, added to the crash category.

    I created my buglist as the other one was not up to date with the latest reports. I don't exactly see the point to make a second topic about the same exact thing as the one I created, especially when some of the bugs listed here are already in my list. You will see, I found and tested a lot of bugs. I don't think that moderator can merge topics. You can change your title as [close] or something like this and post you bugs in my list. I'll keep it updated. For now, I'll test and add the bug I don't have in my list. So you can some notes about the bugs you listed. 1.) not a bug, they are not affected by gravity. 2.) in my list (and in many other bug reports) 3.) need to check this one 4.) need to check this one 5.) in my list 6.) it's working properly. you might ask for a landslide mechanic rework, but it is working as designed. Edit : Sorry if my answer seems rude. Thanks for reporting them in my topic too.

    I can not confirm this one. All the tree that grew on my map had leaves. Do you have this problem with all the tree or only some kind? Can you try it on a different world know it the issue is not related to your world.
  9. You can still store ingots in anvils, even if it's only a stone anvil. It's also possible to store them in booth storage (and they stay hot as it is not a TFC storage). No animal husbandry should work properly now, so even if it's time consuming, animals can reproduce

    This problem started with build 76 and bioxx is aware of it. I think it's ok. If you make a mistake, you can clean the grid eadily. Here is Bioxx answer about this bug : This is a vanilla problem can't easily be 'Fixed'. Build 77 will revamp this window. For now just go slow -Bioxx

    I guess they know about it. I also know that some people reported that breaking leaves sometimes crash the game, but I was not able to reproduce it. I only had willow tree to try it on and it was working well (i mean, breaking the leaves was not crasing the game). I'll try sequoia next. I wrote a message to Dunk and Bioxx asking them if it's possible to check the bugs I listed and if t hey can tell if they are looking to fix it or if it's coniderd to be normal and I got no answer. So I'll wait for an answer or for a new hotfix to test everything again.

    You can try the small boats mod when it will be updated. It give you a boat with a chest on it. But of course, there is some lack of transport method if TFC right now.
  16. Launcher Help

    Forkk's answer might not have been super nice, but you question was quite general. You asked this "could someone post a list of what i do to download and use the TFC launcher" ans the answer is indeed, you can download it from the dowload page and follow the instruction that is "Just download and run". If you can ask a more specific question it would be easier to help. At what point do you have problems runing the launcher ?

  18. Stop using NEI should be the thing to do. There is a known issue with NEI and I think it is still not working properly.

    It work in both my creative and survival world. Do you use a minimap mod? Lot of minimap mods like Rei's minimap use the same default key (M) as the "cycle tool mode" option. You might want check in Setting/Control if there is a hotkey conflict. If you have a minimap, change the cycle tool mode to something else than M. If it's in red, change it for something else.

    I usually double check the bugs, once in creative and once in survival. As far as I know, the bugs I tested in creative also show in survival. For the book recipe, I got it. and the leather must bu in left or right corner. Just figured out how to change the title.... that was over easy...

    What is the recipe for a book, I tried the same as vanilla an got nothing. I can confirm it is not working in creative. I also added the metallurgy table gui problem reported by O.E.C. Still have a couple of older bug reports I want to text as I don't know if they are fixed.

    This is only a problem I encounter when using custom npc. Anytime you click an item in your inventory (e) it drop on the ground. It was not an issue in buid 11. I was going to open a topic to discuss how to balance the use of custom npc in a survival world.
