      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Tree growth speed/size

I would imagine that if you should cut down a tree in TFC then the leaves would drop saplings and sticks at a LOWERED PERCENTILE. Guaranteed one sapling at least for practical reasons.

But as of now there's no guaranteed sapling even if you strip the whole thing manually.

This would work on vanilla because you cut down the tree and saplings happen after you walk away. On TFC if you've gone through the pain of deleafing a tree for those saplings, you won't be walking away from them.

Ah well I'm not too familiar with how the saplings work in this mod. I could simply be changed so that at least one sapling will drop per tree, if that's not too powerful...

The root structure of the trees will depend on the tree species. You can't make a statement about how roots grow among trees anymore than you can make a statement about how branches grow. Take willow trees for example. They require copious amounts of water and so often grow near or beside rivers. Willow roots can spread out for hundreds of feet laterally while barely penetrating the ground beyond 5 or 6 feet.

Course there are outliers, I was keeping it general ;P

does this mean this idea is being considered though?
