      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Less meat and food rotting

Spoil is a fair word to use. though it requires a different syntax. but your right, there really isnt a word for it... odd considering the complexity of English that it lacks words simple as that.

its also fine to bump/necro old topics provided you contribute to the primary conversation. primary being what is in the OP and not the derails that so often occur.

alright, to business. two ways I see this being done:

A.) The cheaty way: Every X hour of each day the meat in someones inv is checked and a value is reduced from it. Chests become an exploit issue with this though.

B.) the simple way: Each food has a slaughter date in its metadata. Food harvisted on Day 1 all stacks with its self and spoils at the same rate. Day 2 slaughters do not stack with day one and spoils separately. Cooked food on day 1 and day 2 act exactly the same as uncooked food. Simple, effective.

Yes, B is the one I meant. It'd decently simple yet will really affect gameplay.

It'd be even more awesome if it was affected by the temperature of the surroundings, that is, either the adjacent blocks or the biome.

while thats nice, it becomes an issue. B is simple and does not require logging of every meat. the meat logs its self. What your asking in this line is pretty much going for A. lets keep it simple and not get ahead of ourselves..

though honestly... I want this... ;P
