      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

What is TFC?

8 posts in this topic

"Welcome to the TerraFirmaCraft wiki! TerraFirmaCraft, created by Bioxx, is a complete rework of Minecraft survival. The world generation is very different from vanilla Minecraft, featuring a wide variety of environments, stone layers, and vegetation, and the technology tree is much richer, encompassing pottery, stone working, metallurgy and much more. This mod is designed to make Minecraft survival more challenging and complex, while still being fun to play. Enjoy!"

I see many people like the start in TFC, because "he" have one hard survival atmospheric. (while MC don't have more)
The complexity is based in ignorance by player of mechanics around TFC, and this ignorance make the complexity, complexity.

Any middle experienced in TFC, dont have more the felling about how i go to obtain X item/resource?
TFC is going to a cooking survival simulation game, or simple farm game, where you live happy with your pets? (anyone said TFC is a "hard creative mode")(maybe)

Survival with full resources with less work, is an easy survival, not challenging.
About complexity, have a junk complexity only to slowdown the game advance or a believable complexity added.

For me shortage is the base to survival.

I agree, my opinion don't stay clear, but if someone want to talk about your felling over TFC way.

Err... What? If you're talking about TFC being too forgiving and resource gathering too easy, i have to disagree with you. That, or you were extremely lucky in picking a bountiful seed. Try surviving near the pole or the equator next playthrough xD

Try setting crops to die of old age and increase year length. That is usual suggestion for making food harder. Alternatively set goals or rules for yourself to increase the challenge. Something like, you can't replant trees etc.

There is only so much Minecraft or any mod built on it can do. However you can do many things to limit or handicap yourself to provide a huge variety in playthroughs.

yes, have many tricks to "challenging" but if you play MP, is hard to change this in server owner mind.An hard challenging is only mine with stone knife, true hard to go to steels. :) At this point MC vanilla is challenging, "only kill mobs with a stick" goto ender-dragon so fun.

Yes it is to convince a server owner, but likely others share your point of view and some of them might have ability to or already host a server. Start a reddit or forum thread explaining what you'd like to find in a server. You might luck out or at least find enough people to share the cost of renting server space to host a TFC server of your design.

Personally, I find TFC fun, but less challenging and more slow/grindy/damn-why-do-I-have-to-walk-1000+-blocks-just-to-get-my-self-some-flux?-annoying

Which is why I prefer playing on servers.

Not really the most challenging server, but we completely remove teleportation from our server, we have TFC with the default config, so torches do go out. We have no pvp, but the towns are very competitive. We aim to stay in the medieval era, so we remove the ability to make mine-carts and tracks. You have to walk, horse ride or boat for your explorations. I think is a good balance, check us out.
