      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. We'll need to scale the NPC's health up, change all items and blocks, and if we add in the suggestion OP made.......

We might as well forget the Millanarie mod, and just make a NPC-addon mod of our own for TFC. Though, I would like to see a addon like millanarie for TFC.

  2. I would like it if the spawnpoint doesn't automatically register, and your location isn't shown as well, so while you have waypoints and a map, it's up to you to find your way around.

Would also like it if ink is bottle+dye and the color of the waypoints/map depends on the dye.

Like, the map is 'blank' until you color in the biomes and such, but what biome gets what color depends on what ink you choose.

So in my map, I might choose to color the desert white, because I have lots of bones, but another player might choose to color it yellow(or something like that)

  3. Actually, I did think of that. If you look right under the 'preparing a carcass' part, you can see

The simplest way to work a carcass is to mindlessly hack it to pieces with whatever you have.

However, this will near-completely wreck the carcass, and the most you can hope for are scraps, bones, and possibly a few bits of product(gunpowder, meat, etc[when I say few, I mean few, like no more than 160 ounces, or one or two items at most. You'll get a load of scraps though]).

Didn't put it in with 'disposing the corpses' bit because you actually do get product out of it, so it's more of a processing the corpse rather than disposing of it.

  4. .... now I want to see all hostile mobs go ride a animal if they spawn near one, but babies will only ride chickens, pheasants, and baby animals, and adults(non-babies?) will only ride full grown cow/pig/sheep/dear/bears.

Ooooh, a wither skeleton with armor and spear riding a bear.... now that would be a frightening thing to face

  5. Your logic, while not completely incorrect, is a little skewed. A water skin is lighter, but also considerably smaller, than what I imagine the clay pots to be modeled after. So it's not a matter of holding more water as it is carrying more skins. Historically the clay pots that women would go fill was a once a day occurrence and typically covered every possible use of water that a family would need it for, barring perhaps bathing. Whereas most water skins I've seen /might/ carry drinking water for two, maybe. More than likely a single skin was drinking water for a persons needs for a couple of days, so yes they would probably need to carry several in order to make it from one water source to another.

Well the thing is... those where as you say, clay pots, not jugs. While yes, clay vessels where used to store water for the family, the containers used tended to be a bit bigger than the average jug. I'd say that a waterskin and a clay jug would have near same capacity, but a jug would be a bit bigger, and also have the advantage of keeping the water a little cooler, and not having the old-leather taste that water inside a waterskin gets after a few hours.

I think clay jugs and leather water skins should both hold water for around 2~3 days, but a jug should have slightly more, like more uses, or restore more thirst. I think they should hold about 4~5-ish servings, and adding more on the 'waterskin is better for travel than jug', how about a jug can break at any time, so not only can it break in the middle of a trip leaving you with nothing to drink from, it could also break when water is still left in it, wasting the water. A waterskin should wear and disappear, but only get damage to durability if you drink up all the water, so you know that the water skin won't break at least until you drink up all the water, and you can also know when to get a new skin, so it'll be much more handy when traveling. However, a water jug that can be placed down, and restores more thirst, would be more useful around the house than a waterskin. The storage methods, I think would be nice, I mentioned above so I won't say again.

And this is just me going everywhere, but speaking of clay water pots....

Won't it be nice to have a method to store water before the copper age? Say, a clay vessel/pot of sorts that stores around oh, half or 1/4 the capacity of a barrel, and can't be used for things like, say making a barrel of tannin to fully prepare leather(this could also work with the ideas to have scraped hide be the 'pre-metal leather'), but could be used for things like brewing alcohol, soaking hide in limewater, making a smaller explosive, etc

  6. Huh, why are chicken jockys not balanced? they're fast and speedy, sure, and get no fall damage, but their rare and I think that makes up for it. Kinda like a rare stronger monster. If it's the entire 'spawns a animal' thing, we could always make a skeleton chicken/pheasant thing that the baby zombie rides or something. And I'm probably saying thing too much.

  7. I would use glass for the same reason, but since I don't have glass, I stick with using a thermos to make my water really really cold so I can't taste that taste. Or stick with tea.

Anyways if we do have water skins, I think it should be worth more than one sip, and the jugs should be worth more than one sip as well.

I think leather waterskins should slowly degrade instead of randomly disappearing, and not be placeable in chests when full, so while more or less same as the jugs, you know when it'll disappear, so you don't have problems like walking out into the desert then having your water jug break. So a waterskin would be better for travel as you can avoid unexpected breakage of your water container, but a water jug will be better for in-home use since it's a lot more sturdy(usually anyways), and can be placed on the ground or in a chest for more effective storage.

  8. The main problem is, well..... the night isn't dangerous bed or no, unless you, like stated above, like to run around at night, or make a really dumb shelter that mobs can come into.

While it's true that a bed lets you pass a very dangerous part of the day, the thing it, making a thatch box does the very same thing, it just takes a much longer time.

    HOWEVER.

There is a difference between these two methods.

One is that unlike a bed, not sleeping makes it a lot harder to tell if the night is over. You have to keep your ears open for the sound of burning dead, or leave a window open and risk getting sniped by a skeleton. Granted, this isn't really that hard to do, and skeletons probably won't wander close enough to see you and shoot anyways. Of course, if on hard, a zombie can break through your door as well, provided that you actually have a door

The second is a bit of a bigger difference.

    The morning.

The bed, if used correctly, can prevent all surface mobs form spawning.

However, if you spend the night while not sleeping, even at day, you are in danger from creepers, baby zombies, and undead with hats/under overhangs/in forests, at least for the first few (in-game) early hours of the day.

And this is, I think the biggest difference. A bed, truly can give a 'peaceful experience on hard' because mobs don't spawn at all.

However, not sleeping the night is different, because mobs do spawn, and some of these mobs can survive the sun and give you a very nasty surprise.

I think it would be nice if you could skip the night, but it didn't effect the spawning of mobs, so when you wake up, you have to be careful because you can walk out the door and get slaughtered by that baby zombie, or creeper, or something

  9. 2. Other than the not breaking, glass bottles already fill all of these requirements.

Glass bottles break? well that's news to me.

I don't like the idea of rotten food being used as fertilizer unless it just makes very crappy fertilizer, or a very very little amount of fertilizer.

Don't really care about rotten flesh, though since rotten flesh can be very abundant, it might kinda mess up the entire balancing of farming

  10. The community has given him much love (and hate). But why does hate always win?

It's not really 'hate won'. Love gave as much, if not more, pressure.

He said it himself. When he first made minecraft, he did it for fun. There was not much people looking at it, and he could do it like a fun little side-project, Heck, one of the features in minecraft was practically added as a joke, and the creeper model is actually a messes-up pig model he thought looked cool.

Anyways, the point is, he could do whatever he wanted, and not feel any pressure about whether the feature would be 'good' or not.

But now with thousands of people loving minecraft and looking at his every words(or tweets, whatever) he's feeling the pressure. He can't just add whatever fits his fancy, and he can't mess up. Everyone expects everything to be perfect, and that kind of pressure made him crack.

It has nothing to do with hate or love, it's just that all notch wanted was a fun project he could work on freely the way he wanted, and minecraft just wasn't it anymore.

Personally, I don't blame him. If I made something just for fun, and suddenly hundreds of people where staring at me getting super-hyped about everything I was about to put into it, I think I would crack under that pressure as well.

  11. Read a good book, preferably in the sun. Or, relax in the sun, preferably on a sofa.

If you could have any pet you wanted(I mean any, like fantasy animals, or normally non-pet animals[like, amoeba], or a tree, or even a bottle of water), but could only have one, what pet would you want?

  12. Sounds like one of your steam pipes are leaking. The pressurized jet of steam from the broken pipe is most likely messing with your turret's gears.

Since a steam turrets needs a lot of pressure, a leak from a steam turret's steam pipe has enough force to activate the turret's movement systems, or even unscrew the screws holding it in place.

Zombie gunk got into my AA-12 and now it's jammed. What do I do?
