      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

This stone looks like a human made stone road/walls :o

Did you made it or it's just the texture pack?

No that is a ntural formation of sulfur deposits around a lava pool. All of that is naturally occurring. The only thing that isn't natural is the torch I placed on the far wall to get a little light on the situation. :)

And that texture is from the texture pack "Eleutheria" which can be found here on the forums. it is for Schist (I think)... I can't remember...

Give it some time, dude. I am sure you will grow to like it. There is much to see and do, but you do need patience. Welcome to TFC! :)

Hahahahaha! That was PERFECT! I couldn't have said it better myself ^.^

I don't disagree with all of the points you have stated, but keep in mind it's still a beta mod.

By stone I meant the stone blocks.. not the sulfur (which looks nothing like a human made road/wall)

Hi and welcome to the forums and the nice overview you gave, a few words to it.

The game is actually not that hard once you understood how it works.[...]

About the ores, congratulations you are one of the few ppl that find only copper[...]

Believe me, once you worked out how this stuff works it's not so hard anymore. But TFC really requires you to learn a bit how it works before you can use it easily.

Hi ;)

I actually had found two huge veins of copper, one huge vein of tin ore, and gathered some 30+ ingots of copper and tin from the surface pebbels as of the time of the making of the original post. (Didn't bother mining the veins because I had nothing to do with them.)

What bothered me was that I had a f****tone of materials to make bronze, but couldn't because I needed to find flux to make a copper anvil just to make a bronze anvil, which I didn't enjoy, because I saw no reason for that. :P

or you can simply get it from stones, chalk + hammer for example gives you 2 flux.

There is a better reason for that, you need at least the same tier anvil or else you would simply break the anvil.

Copper is harder then stone so working copper on a stone anvil would break the anvil, so you first make a copper anvil then you can work the copper on it.

The assumption is that each next tier metal/alloy is stronger and harder then the previous.

Also I think they should do this for hammer as well, so you will need copper anvil and copper hammer to really work copper tools.

I disagree. Worked metal is hot and flexible, it needing a "harder" metal anvil doesn't make realistic sense, and for a moment broke the game for me because of how much ores I gathered, but no flux to make an anvil. And when I finally found flux I HAD to make copper anvil just to make a bronze anvil.

I think that we should be able to make tools of the same tier as the anvil +1, so bronze tools on the copper anvil. I don't think that our ancestors first made a bronze anvil and only after that did anything else with it... now, did they? xD

Give it some time, dude. I am sure you will grow to like it. There is much to see and do, but you do need patience. Welcome to TFC! :)

Whoa, that is one cool cave. The only thing that I found were either super-small underground lake-caves or the exact same vanilla worm-holes, just smaller.

After finally finding a literall mountain of marble for flux and making bronze tools, digging throught rock and cutting trees didn't take so much time and I could enjoy the game far more.

I can't wait to see where this mod will go, even more then for oryginal Minecraft during the alpha and beta developement. So yeah, I have grown to love it. ;)

Not a single word about endermen. And they are death itself in TFC, unless you have a sword and set of armour, not just minor annoyance, like skeletons are.

Endermen were a huge dissapointment in vanilla Minecraft, and they only deal more damage in TFC. Honestly, you just have to not look directly at them. And the few times that I did just for fun they teleported away and were never seen again. Skeletons on the other hand are a huge annoyance, because they have a 100% chance to damage your health which recovers very slowly. I've spent half an hour running away from skeletons in a cave system with less then 10% health. And after leaving TFC afk for an hour to get my health back, I was down to less then 10% after five minutes. ;p

the TFC forums, the only place where your opinion, however negative, isnt beat into the ground like a zombie :D

Yeah, this actually have surprised me possitivelly as I was mainly just venting my frustration of not finding the damn flux in the original post! :D

So thanks everyone for not beating me into the ground like a zombie and for the warm welcome! ;)

What about the guy who posted "Hi, im new too tfc"

He shouldn't have been playing TFC anyways.

He should have been spending his time trying to learn his native language.

Blaming his past for his lack of knowledge was pathetic and illogical.

Does the mod with the backpacks allow you to put them into each other? Isn't it a little unfair to walk around with almost infinite storage?

I don't think you can put backpacks inside each other, but even without that I do not use the mod myself because I feel that it is IMBA. Your inventory is already the size of at least one backpack.

: That thing was already kind of ended... It's a good guy, even if he isn't precisely a writer... So yeah, as Wolf said, let's leave that alone.

It sounds like your seed and where you happen to search just lead you in an unusual direction. Many worlds will leave the players in the pre-bronze age for a long time, in which case this sort of thing wouldn't arise. TFC has a huge amount of variance from seed to seed, and every world is quite different in a lot of respects.

They are often a little deeper. Keep an ear out for mob noises either when you're digging or wandering the surface in day time. Other times you might be wandering along and suddenly fall into a giant chasm. Listen for falling sand and rocks. Also brown dead patches may indicate a collapsed area underneath, suggesting a caved-in opening to a cave system.

Since i am not playing against others, am the only one in my game, and have no unfair advantage that would make me come out victor in some unforseen race to the end, I will have to go with no on the unfair factor.

Also I have not tried putting a backpack into another backpack as I do not want to tear a rift in time which may thereby add some excitement to my otherwise stellar existance. ;)

Too be honest, I cheated a little bit. My computer was lagging and on few occasions my game failed to load chuncks in certain area from which I was able to see uncovered caves underground.

Found a vein of Copper and a magma pull with sulfur patches this way ;d

I figured that I diserved it, after suffering the horrible lag... (I need to upgrade, and will do so soon.)

Also @ backpack conversation.

I love the idea, but having a backpack in one hotbar slot should give us acces to the original size inventory. So we should've only the hotbar at the beggining. If it slowed us down it would be cool too ;p

unfortunately, the theme of this mod is that no matter what, you deserve nothing, and should deal with the hardships and problems that your game throws at you. Among the hardcore TFCers, I think giving yourself a free ride because lag isn't going to make you too popular
