      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Things that make you go hmmmmm....

Right so I've been playing 68 and things make me wonder, are the mobs around way more often with this version? Specifically the creepers, they do little to no damage to myself but they do have a tendency to destroy my stuff. Yeah I know creepers are a part of things and they are liable to do this but I'm sure there was no mobs outside my house, during the day mind you, walk out my front door and bam! Creeper on my doorstep blowing up my front lawn.

Also is the creeper damage, to players, intentional as it is or is it just they haven't been balanced yet?

Ehh... well, I am not sure about Creeper damage. Are you using Coros' Zombie Awareness modification by any chance? Because the modification gifts the hostile mobiles enhancement in terms of awareness.

Thanks and I don't think so. As far as I know the server I am on is using TFC (Of course) and Smart Moving.

Creeper damage may be a bug.

Bioxx didn't want creepers to be lethal for some reason.

edit:

"Dunk: creepers are also quite tame

Bioxx: yes

nothing I can do about them

they jsut fick your world up

not you"

I'm ok with them being more specialized so long as it means dangerous and not just more annoying.

if my lawn keeps loosing a couple pieces of dirt at a time soon I'm going to be on a cliff. lol

I remember way back in vanilla beta 1.2, I had a bridge coming out of the front of my house/cave so I didn't have to avoid the craters.

creepers should do equal damage but nuke like a charged creeper would, more terrain damage, that'd make them a force to be reckoned with

I have the same problem where the creepers seem to materialize out of thin air. I guess I'm just not good at doing a sweep each morning. Also, I think they sometimes spawn on top of trees and kamikaze you.

they kamikaze alright, just had a creeper in the middle of the day come into my smithery and blow up destroying my shiny new iron anvil.

They would be worse I think if they actually did damage to the player.

I personally think this sort of behavior is more annoying. Night I can understand but middle of the day? In a place I almost never leave?

Oh I will add I don't really see any other types of mobs anymore, night or day, around my house.

Just a question, your smithery is open air, or you forgt to close the door? ._.

And that (not having monsters aroun the house) is because of the chunk protection.

well I didn't close my door, mainly because of you know, it's day and supposedly no monsters.

It is my fault for not closing my door yes and I will be more careful next time but I did think it would have been fine.

With creepers appearing out of thin air, apparently no, it's not safe :

Creepers don't disappear just because it's day though (unless they're pig-creepers). I doubt they're spawning in the day, they're just wandering around since the previous night and finally found you.

Remember to light your roof up if you're not. If your smithy is open air but near something with an unlit roof, that might be your problem.

I don't know if the sounds have changed or what, but I've been ambushed more by creepers in this version than I remember happening in a loong time.

creepers usually ambush me even in vanilla but I do think there are more of them in tfc

maybe it's a creepocalypse

also some mobs are living in trees now....not under them, in them

EVERYONE CALM DOWN ABOUT A HOSTILECALYPSE! It is just chunk protection that's causing hostiles to spawn in your homes. Try moving your bases in a chunk where you are most active, m'kay?

0.o I'd assume most people spend most of their time near their homes.

Your explanation is about as good as "the creepers are spawning there" as an explanation.

Obviously, we noticed.

Exactly...It isn't really a home if you don't stay there for 90% of the time...
