ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -

I will probably start experimenting with the system soon unless someone else gets time to explore and learn. To the point, to give people a small idea on the mechanics: the leaves are actually separate textures from the fruit. Each tree has its own separate leaf texture as well as flowering textures (I might have copied a few, I can't remember). The trees are definitely going to get a graphic update some time. I'm not satisfied with how they look right now (I think Bioxx agrees lol)

Looks like sulfur deposits to me and they got on the tree and stuff because of the magma pit I think. I haven't seen one of those since early early beta2pr. AFAIK sulfur does nothing atm.

I think that's the same issue as in vanilla when you see an oasis in the desert and floating sand. Nothing happens till you cause a block update and then they fall. Unless of course the block is actually a non-gravity affected block in which case no, it isn't supposed to fall, and is a side effect of the mechanics.

I know it's possible for blocks to dispense items/blocks as if they were placed. Just need to determine the mechanics involved in that method. A leaf block that has a direct path to the ground below through air blocks only (say minimum of 2 or 3?) has say a 1:500 chance to plant a sapling? That way you don't suddenly come to a forest that has hundreds of saplings all over the ground from every tree.

I hope so. I don't think we're that far along just yet in the agriculture development. It might look the same it might not. But it will most likely feel different. I guess it's not quite getting a face lift as much as a boob job -
I think he's roughly 1.6 or 1.7m tall. But either way, mining out 1 block higher doesn't bother me.

I'm halfway tempted to suggest starting a thread (which would need heavy moderation via post deleting) just for wiki update recommendations. Posts would be deleted as the wiki is updated.

Cool. I didn't know it was that useful lol. First paint program I learned to use was Paint Shop Pro and then switched to Photoshop while it was at version 2 or 3.

Yup One of the random things I learned while I was up late reading a book with the TV on PBS lol. A neat 4 hour show on basic human desires (food, beauty, stimulation, and something else). The food section included some neat stuff. Especially the part on how 'Johnny Appleseed' was portrayed as giving seeds to people - where in actuality the chance of those seeds producing an apple tree with good edible apples is unlikely. But yeah, the apple tree in the back yard made some pretty sour apples, but they were edible lol.

Right on. It's been about 15 years since I've even touched any D&D stuff and I still have my books and dice somewhere in a box lol.

I don't think paint supports an alpha channel so you'd have to use another program to make one after drawing it in paint.

Actually it was a natural fruit tree, not a commercial tree, we live next to small farm with cattle and a few wild apple trees. Also, some people may not know this, an apple seed isn't guaranteed to give you a tree that will grow the same type of apple. The apple seed contains the genes for all apples. There's more work in tree farms than just planting a seed. And for some reason I was in the mindset that this was just about fruit trees lol. I've been looking at the textures for them too much lol. I like the idea anyway but I honestly don't see it as a problem like you do I guess.
