      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. ID mismatches

    Delete your configs
  2. Body Temperature: Simplified

alcohol only opens blood vessels, making your extremities feel warmer while in reality it's undoing your body's natural mechanisms that prevent your core body temperature from dropping. Alcohol would change your perception of the cold while making you more perceptible to it.
  3. Canoes

This is exactly what I was thinking. Additionally, as I mentioned above, we want the canoe to be able to have one OR two players in it at the same time, which is just one challenge that makes canoes more than just a reskin of the vanilla boat. With all of the canoe's properties, I expect the most difficult challenges to overcome and test will be: - Allowing multiple players to ride in the same canoe at the same time - Change the animation for the paddle such that when players are sitting in a canoe, right click visibly paddles on the right side and left click visibly paddles on the left - Allow canoes to properly beach themselves on the banks of water (this could be easy or difficult; I won't know until we try) - Force canoes to render on the player's head when they carry them, portage-style (after more recent work with quivers, I now believe it's actually very easy to accomplish the rendering, but I still expect some challenges relating to slowing the player down and if I want to prevent the canoe from phasing through solid blocks) The operation of the canoe will likely be smooth enough and versatile enough that it shouldn't be too difficult to do otherwise- I believe the vanilla boat is difficult to work with because the controls you have over it's movement are very limited. With the responsiveness of the breaking action that the canoe offers, it will be easy to quickly cut speed and change direction sharply, which is why I think vanilla boats are awful for river travel and why canoes will be ideal.
  4. Horse saddle irreversibly teleports to horse's children

    Thanks for reporting this.
  5. Pheasant male fertilizes chicken eggs?

    Noted, thank you.
  6. Body Temperature: Simplified

Probably would have to, at least some basic level of discrete temperature areas. There's some breathing room between "chilly" and "bone-freezingly abysmal"
  7. What time is it on your world?

true, true. Sleeping does change things quite a bit
  8. How big are your veins?

frankly, the romans weren't mining cubic meters of stone in a few seconds.
  9. [Solved] help with bloomery

It does not need access to air. Make sure you are using a CHARCOAL block which you have placed by right clicking charcoal items (8 times) into the bottom of the bloomery, not a coal block. As for chickens, try to push them towards the nest. If you can get them in, they'll lay the eggs.
  10. How to regenerate your dog's health ?

You can tell if you're feeding your wolf because it will make a burp sound when you right click and won't sit. If you feed your wolf until it is full, it will heal slowly for one in-game day. EDIT: the wolf will also consume 5 oz of the food that you're feeding it. EDIT2: all animals have an internal hunger value, which depletes slowly for 1 week until it reaches 0. It will not drop below 0. Cows, sheep, chickens, pheasants, pigs, and horses fill their meters by eating grass. Wolves need to be fed. When an animal has 6 or more days worth of food stored in it's hunger value, it will heal. EDIT3: The tail doesn't measure health. Don't look at it.
  11. Dog Sled/horse and carriage

This is actually something I worked on a bit for 78. Anywhere with sharp dirt cliffs gets a bit of smoothing. You'll notice that you don't get naturally occurring 6 block dirt cliffs anymore (or less of them). Dirt towers naturally shorten themselves and the dirt layer gets smaller with altitude. The combination of these two factors make cliff faces and mountain peaks rockier.
  12. IGNs for the devs and admins?

Oh if that's how we're going to do it Minecraft IGN: nikstick22 Email: I don't really advertise it Skype: also not something I advertise Twitter @TFC_Dunk, but this is in my signature Youtube: youtube.com/nikstick22 Twitch: twitch.tv/dunkleosteus
  13. Just started! Any tips?

A lot of people find that food is one of their initial challenges. Not having enough logs or sticks won't kill you while you huddle in your shelter the first night, but starvation might. TFC has a lot of different crops which grow in the wild, and since we're on 1.6, the only flowers that you'll see are roses, dandelions and the goldenrod that kitty posted. Anything else is likely food.
  14. Help. Animals don't drop anything.

I think I'd rather hand this one off to Kittychanley. I think she'd be of more help to you here than I would.
  15. Help. Animals don't drop anything.

I'm not sure what "Java HotSpot" is, but it might be the problem. Usually when minecraft crashes, it tells you which file caused the problem. In your case, it's spat the memory state of your computer at the time of the crash.
  16. Help. Animals don't drop anything.

Oh jeez, memory dump... For starters, you wouldn't be able to spawn yourself a cow with an egg using the vanilla entity ID. Best bet would be to /gamemode 1 and then look for the grey "spawn cow" egg in the creative menu. This will spawn a TFC cow.
  17. Help. Animals don't drop anything.

What does the in-game calendar say the date is? Do the animals look odd, or do they look perfectly normal? Did you get any experience for killing them?
  18. Item despawn time

The timer is in place to prevent items from bogging down worlds, with the idea that 5 minutes would be enough in most situations. You're right that 5 minutes is enough time less often in TFC than in vanilla, but it would also open up servers to potential item spam griefing. Best case solution would to have a config to allow world owners to choose whatever they like, but I don't think that will happen.
  19. Dog Sled/horse and carriage

I find this funny. Bioxx might too, if he remembers XP. Kitty's more than right though; we're not adding slopes or anything like that to world gen.
  20. Canoes

Such a feature would probably require a lot of time and testing, and I think we'd prefer to release 79 sooner rather than later
  21. Canoes

  22. taming horses?

you don't. I think shift right clicking takes it off if you're not on the horse though.
  23. What time is it on your world?

Getting to the year 2000 would require a world to run continuously for more than 3.6 years in real life.
  24. Ambitious thoughts

A ticking carcass isn't the worst thing in the world. For starters, each carcass starts as an animal, which have a lot more upkeep than a carcass would. You're not creating anymore entities than the world would have naturally, and carcasses wouldn't last forever either. Eventually, they'd rot to nothing.
