      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [TFC 0.79.27] Technofirma Mod Pack

Awesome, fixed the resource pack thing by zipping my pack - thanks for the suggestion. Strange as it's always worked unzipped. I use it that way as it's easier to browse and edit since you don't get previews while it's zipped. Found a very minor problem I thought I'd point out - the water turbine in ELN doesn't appear to work with TFC's water, it just flows right through - no turning and no power.
  2. My work around was to add shapeless recipes. 1 coal + item = 1 result item 1 coal + 2 x item = 2 result item etc. So same usage of material, minus actually using a furnace or some time - acceptable for my purpose
  3. I can't seem to find any way to do it. I assume the class is there for me to add to the script.zs file, but I have no clue how to find it! Any help? Just want to add simple recipe to smelt 1 item into another.
  4. Just wondering if there's any way of doing it so I can 'store' my animals inside a large barn. I was thinking of a glass roof, but now I read that wont work in another thread. Will anything work? How about planks? Reason being I want to prevent all my animals being sucked up in the next tornado (Weather mod). I just had a storm at night and the next morning all 15 or so of my animals were gone, strewn about the landscape - even a couple up a tree It was hilarious except I lost one of my 2 sheep I spent 3 hours finding and bringing back to my house (I cheated one back alive lol)
  5. [Solved] Silly question maybe.. Indoor grass?

Ok cool thanks. The effects not as bad as I thought then. Was hoping a trapdoor would work since it does for the Forge, but nope
  6. Hm good point. Maybe I'll just make it a piece of coal + the item I want to cook rather than the need to cook. Would kind of bring the same result.
  7. [TFC 0.79.27] Technofirma Mod Pack

Excellent! Slight issue, I can't see to add any resource packs with the updated version. Get a handful of spread out messages in the log where it can't find various textures, I'm not sure what they are related to though. Worked fine in the previous version.
  8. [TFC 0.79.27] Technofirma Mod Pack

Need help, something keeps killing me and I don't know what it is! I think I'm about a year or so into the game, it's January. So I'm stood there in the upper floor of my house making glass on my forge. The whole area outside has spawn protection and is fenced off too. I've had weeks of not a single creature getting in past my 3 high fence (to stop skeletons shooting over it - I'm playing with the Zombie Awareness mod too). I hear some weird whispers, I think it's the wind. It's night time by the way. Then I get a blindness debuff and more whispers, I look around.. strange.. nothing.. I go back to making glass. Then something hits me.. instant death from ~890 health. I respawn over 1000 blocks away and start a quick run along the coast before going into the water since it's pitch black. More whispers.. Blind.. Dead. I quit and reload, try again, same.. Dead. 5th try I get further into the small sea I have to cross.. Then again whispers, blindness dead. I can't see any mobs anywhere! My death message is "CreepyD Died" - helpful. Have searched Google but can't find anything but don't have much to go on - can you shed any light on it? I guess it's something in one of the mods, but there are so many. I assume I'm going to be ok once daylight comes but need to know for future what to do about it. Added.. Hm I just realised it's Friday 13th and remembered seeing something about that in a config file. Yes, Grue from the Enviromine mod is enabled on Fri 13th even if it's disabled! It has to be that. Now I see that there's a bug (posted on Feb 15th in that forum) that allows Grue out of the 'cave dimension' and able to attack anywhere, even in daylight.
  9. [TFC 0.79.27] Technofirma Mod Pack

I narrowed down my problem with not seeing / hearing rain. It I'm under a block and can't see sky, then I can't see the rain looking 'out' into it. As soon as I step out the rain appears. I guess that's a problem with the Weather mod though - as far as the pack goes, working perfectly It's awsome how you've changed so many recipe's to fit with TFC from all these mods, I can see that looking through NEI.
  10. [TFC 0.79.23+] Decorations Addon for TFC

Has anyone found / made a resource pack with support for this mod? I use it but tend to lean away from actually using the blocks because they look a strange compared to my other blocks which are all 128x128 Other than that it's great! I might edit at least the mud bricks myself if nobody knows of any packs.
  11. [Rule #2] Does 4 wool no longer make cloth?

I like that making a bed is a real undertaking now, since being able to sleep the night away is a huge thing. You can make a bed from Leather usually much sooner with only 1 piece of large leather (Not sure what drops that - Bears do, anything else?) It needs to be refined though, you can now make a mini barrel from clay to do the job. That doesn't sleep the night away, but does reset your spawn point at least.
  12. [TFC 0.79.27] Technofirma Mod Pack

Managed to fix my throwing problem by disabling the throwing part of ItemPhysic. Also updating that mod would fix it too. I noticed another small problem though, the Weather2 mod disabled vanilla rain, which in turn means torches don't burn out in the rain and barrels no longer fill from it. If I enable vanilla rain, I can't see or hear it. I'm just trying to find a way of making the Weather2 rain affect TFC items. I tried turning on the storms only spawning when it's raining, but it was raining constantly for days, that can't be right. Turned on Global Overcast mode - appears to be working (I think)
  13. [TFC 0.79.27] Technofirma Mod Pack

Wow this mod pack is fantastic. Only 1 slight problem I've encountered.. I press Q to throw an item.. I release Q, it throws a second of that item. Tried rebinding the key, same problem. Strange. Can't find anything about this issue using Google but it's a really difficult one to search for. Any ideas? Nevermind.. I turned off 'Shortcuts' in a mod menu, which I got to from a small button in the top right corner of my inventory window Hm no, the problem has returned. Strange. Seems to be to do with some throwing mod I think. Ooh and I can't see any rain when I can hear it (and see it dropping through tree leaves).
  14. Hiding through the first few nights

I just wanted to say here that in my experience that's a VERY bad idea to sleep and then break your bed to carry on I now take multiple beds and leave each one in a nice hide or something, using a new one each night. If I run out of beds, I follow the same trail back, usually making it a couple of beds worth of distance on the way back each day. Destroying your bed means you go back to the original spawn point when you die, which can often be 1000's of blocks away in TFC!
  15. How are you guys dealing with caves?

I think every block of stone needs another type that cannot cave-in. Every cave ceiling block can do a simple check when it's created - "are there 3 blocks of air directly under me?" If yes - spawn the block type that cannot cave. If no, it's a regular block. That way, you mine out any ceiling and the blocks above it would fall through. But cave ceilings in real life are generally really tough, having been formed that way by some long slow process - they shouldn't cave in even mining nearby.
  16. Brass

I wasn't and tbh aren't sure how it happens either. In order to make metals at the beginning, you're generally going to have to refer to the wiki being it's so different from vanilla. The metals page - http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/Metals - quite clearly shows what you can make with each metal. Must be something causing it though.
  17. Crashing after a few secs [Solved]

TFC Version #: 0.79.12.427Forge Version #: 10.13.2.1236SSP (Single):Suggested Name:Description: Today I've started crashing. I did add the TFC Decorations mod, but it's still crashing having removed that - nothing else has changed. I had many crashes it seems since I put multicore chunk loading on - so I turned that back to default and that crash was fixed. But I have a feeling from the error that all the crashes have broken something else in my world The crash report should help - it seems there's something up with a BlockSpawnMeter. I crash within seconds of loading. Sometimes less than 1 second, sometimes it lasts 5-10 seconds (rare). Another world loads just fine and can play with no crashes. A search for this hasn't helped. Have you deleted your config files or are using default configs and are still able to reproduce this bug?: YesHold on - doing this appears to have fixed it (well I ran for a few mins ok)Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: YesIf yes, which mods? CodeChickenCore 1.0.2.9 (Also tried the latest version, same problem - game was stable for at least 10 hours with this version previously) NotEnoughItems 1.0.2.15 (Also tried the latest version, same problem - game was stable for at least 10 hours with this version previously) TFC NEI plugin 1.3.0.16 fastcraft 1.9 - Tried removing all the above - same error still If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them? Yes (I removed optifine - it's the same) Here's the latest crash report (minus optifine which I did have previously - it seems the same): ---- Minecraft Crash Report ----// This is a token for 1 free hug. 18. Crashing after a few secs [Solved]

Yep that's exactly what I was after. I just felt that when exploring or mining, spawn protection came far too fast, so I upped it. I also didn't want to lose the fact that your home base still accumulates it at the usual 1 per 24 hour rate, hence the figures. It was in fact me who initially requested that setting added to the config so I could do exactly that, thanks for adding it I just ran MC Region Fixer on that world, it didn't find any problems. That's actually what I was wondering from the error description - which is what led me to wonder if it was because I set "full" amount to in essence be higher than it should be. Strange - now on loading the map I'm getting: "There are 1 missing blocks and items in this save" blah blah blah. "Missing Blocks/Items:" "terrafirmacraft:item.Seeds Hemp" Have clicked yes to continue - it seems to be working crash free now
  19. Crashing after a few secs [Solved]

    Oh I thought I was running the latest version. I always update as soon as I see a new update, strange I missed updates But I think I've found the cause, based on the error and the fact the config file seemed to fix it, could it be this? I changed it to what most would think is a very high value, could it be too high? protection { # The maximum number of months of spawn protection that can accumulate. I:maxProtectionMonths=12 # The minimum number of hours of protection that must be accumulated in a chunk in order to bypass the buffer and prevent hostile mob spawning. I:protectionBuffer=576 # The number of hours of protection gained in the 5x5 chunk area for spending 1 hour in that chunk. I:protectionGain=24}
  20. Crashing after a few secs [Solved]

Ok updated the template, sorry about that. Oddly deleting the config files seemed to stop the crashing! But then I put 'my' config files back and it still doesn't crash - I'm confused. Could removing those have let it get 'over' something that was stuck? I hadn't changed anything in those in months, and the only change is to the torch behaviour, it's always worked fine. I can try for longer tomorrow - it had got 'over' the crash earlier more than once after many tries (when I was doing much trial and error), only to crash and get stuck again 5-10 mins later, so I'll try more tomorrow. Need sleep now
  21. Spawn protection bugs

Version #: 0.79.8.328SSP/SMP (Single):Suggested Name: Spawn Protection bugsSuggested Category: AnnoyingDescription: Noticed this a few days ago, thought I'd post it in the correct place and stuff as it's something most wont notice but will affect people's opinion of Spawn Protection 'IF' others also have this issue. I have turned off torches going out until this is resolved. I have tested this in a brand new game in creative mode, checking the SP hours using /gsp and using a stopwatch. 1. Spawn protection does not add to itself 'on the hour', it only adds after you've stayed in a chunk for 1 hour (50 secs). If you move into another chunk, even at 49 secs, the timer resets and you build up 0 spawn protection. Despite that, it keeps ticking down an hour each hour. Any moving around and you will never build any SP. 2. Upon loading, random chunks lose their stored SP time and go back to -24 hours. I 'think' this was added recently as I still had a couple of chunks left with 1400+ hours in 79.8. Now only 1 remains in my 9+ chunk home zone. 3. The chunk I'm standing in builds normally, -24, -16, -8, 0, 8, 16 etc. The chunks nearby add only 7 except for the first time.. -24, -16, -9, -2, 5, 12 etc (maybe this is intended?) Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: YesDo you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: NoDid have optifine, tried with only suggested mods, still the same.
  22. Simply Love This Mod

Imo once you've played this mod, vanilla no longer exists
  23. I just piped some fresh water about 30 blocks so it was under my house and built the beginnings of a basement, just because I wanted easier access to fill up my water bottles and such. Now I find although it quenches my thirst standing in the running stream, I can't fill my water jugs, is that how it's suppose to be? I can understand buckets because they need a source water block, but the jugs don't. Can't see the logic in this one myself
  24. On my current play through I'm not using a map at all to keep it challenging. I've starting putting signs up. e.g. a sign saying "Koalinite just behind 2nd mountain" and facing it in the direction of the two mountains (you can see one). Also beams make great markers since they automatically go 3 high, then I put a wood plank on 1-2 sides to show a path direction. Lines of torches are good, even if they go out they still mark a pathway. I do wish the proper in game maps would work better, or that the minimap could plug in to the fact you have to craft something.
  25. Support beams

I can't seem to find an explanation of how they are suppose to work now. Basically I just tried a simple thing, digging a straight 3 high, 1 wide tunnel. I managed to get 2 beams in by 8 blocks apart digging out blocks next to that path - that seemed to work at first. From above I was digging left to right.. OOOOO B B OOOOO ===B======XB===OOOOO B B I started digging out a 5x5 (still 3 high) section at the far right end of my diagram above where the O's are. I think I dug out the middle of the the 3 heights first once, and there was a massive cave in.. Blocks above 3 high came down too around me. Also to my amazement, so did the block where the X is above?! (Not even next to or touching the collapsing blocks in any way). So where that X is 3 high cobblestone with 8 more gravel/soil on top of that, I had to dig the whole lot and refill it. But the question is why did it collapse? And why did height 4 collapse in the other room I was digging out when I had a successfully placed beam not 5 squares away at height 3?
