      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Fix mobs dropping vanilla items, ie, iron tools, iron bar (can be used to make a flint and tinder) or at least replace them with the equivalent items from tfc.

They need to port over some recipes they haven't done yet like iron bars. How about zombies don't drop wrought iron though.

Well, i agree, but even if they did, you wouldn't be able to do much with it, due to anvil requirements. they would need a WI anvil to make anything on it.

This is really minor, but... Make it so that if you make a wooden staircase or slab, the actual material is that of what you made it from? That way, if you were to make wooden stairs out of aspen, they would be the same color as wooden planks made of aspen, and so on. It is very irritating when you want to make a house out of wood, and the stairs/slabs/whathaveyou don't match.

lol, i thought that was already in the list o.o

what would happen if you used a combination of planks to make the stairs/slabs/whatever? like, kapok + birch + aspen + hickory + maple + ash planks (i actually made some stairs that way a while ago : just to see if it worked-

Unfortunately the current Notchcode would make that INCREDIBLY difficult, I believe

Would it? In vanilla minecraft there are varied colored wood slabs/stairs.

Maybe make it so you have to use only one type of plank per stairs?

Yes, it would. Bioxx would have to add in a separate crafting recipe for each different wood type

Just saying.... Support beams, there are already different wood types for each, it's no great step to suggest different colored stairs, fences, and doors.

Yes but I believe support beams may carry over the metadata from their parent wood. They're a new item Bioxx made from scratch, so he could take those kinds of liberties. If he tried that with vanilla stairs, idk if it's even possible. The stairs might have to be replaced with new TFC ones completely

That was the only way i saw it, just delete the original recipe, and make it need to be done with a tool something like a chisel, or just leave the recipe in as a placeholder.

You'd have to leave in vanilla ones, else anyone who's already made stairs will crash when they load their world

Hmm... well could it done as with stone stairs right? like leave both methods in, but make the tool usage stair much more efficient, IE place plank block down, chisel it into stair = Profit.

Also, i demand usable furniture if this is done.

If wood blocks are redone the way stone was, I can definitely see a new 'planer' tool being added that essentially serves as a chisel for wood

Yup, it's pretty silly to have to place 6 M^3 of wood just to get 1/2^3. Seeing as the stone items are done in that manner, i think i made a post like that in chisel functions, but yeah, the planer idea needs to be added.

Saw mention of removing vanilla drops from mobs. One option would be to have zombies have a very low chance of dropping tier 0 metal minor tools (axes, saws, hoes, shovels, knives) denoting their obviously simple existence pre-death. Would give them a good alternative to random iron drops without effectively giving someone a way out of the stone ages without finding metals. If need be it could be taken a step further and the tools could have a random percent of damage on them ranging from 10-60%.

For the stairs idea, rather than remove the vanilla stairs recipe and adding a bunch of new ones and thus corrupting a bunch of saves, why not make a new stairs recipe using planks, and have the particular plank type determine the look of the stairs?

Make it so buckets don't destroy sourceblocks of water, instead turning the equivilant amount of water into the finite kind.

Howabout you dont? Have it reject the recipe unless its all 1 type That would solve it.
